Yes, me too. I am technically not “allowed” to buy any more basses, but ATM I am keeping an eye on this one, the Aerodyne and the Yamaha BB734 - there is a fair bit of difference between all of these … … just window shopping!
I know what my gut is telling me, cancel the BB735A and shop and wait.
Every time I buy something that my gut tells me to buy its a win, when I force something it tends to be a crap shoot. Holding out though cause I have time, just in case.
Maybe you should try a different tack, find a cheap used 5 to see if you like them at all? I didn’t like 5’s - the string spacing bugged me even after a couple months. I’m glad I got it at a steep discount.
Most definitely a good tactical move @howard
I’m on my second cheap fiver and it’s up for sale after a very short time. I really just cannot gel with the thing even though it’s a really nice bass
I think what I have come to is this…
I really like what he did here, it takes the dingwall to a whole new place.
I was not digging Dingwall due to some of the electronics specificity.
But what he did here is genius, and sounds insane.
I never conisdered modding such an expensive bass, but if it gets you to where you want…
Now just to figure out color.
They have a batch of black and white prepping to go out the door at the moment. Will probably be a few months before the next colours are available, unless you can find a dealer with inventory.
There are quite a few available here in the states on Reverb.
Many gold like the one in the video, black, a couple of Ferrari green (which I don’t like). The gold is growing on me quickly. I would totally dig the white if there was an ebony fretboard, would love a ‘tuxedo bass’ one day.
Why not design and build your own. You can have the body design you like, the neck you prefer, and electronics that you like. It can be so out there. My first one I went with crazy headstock fretless, and the next one is a short scale multi scale with 30* fan fret angle. I’m debating one split p xtender or add a quad xtender as well.
