So far, I’ve got a PJ, short scale, and P bass. I’m going to replace my PJ with a better one, then I need a Jazz bass and something with Humbucker’s. There’s my 5.
alternate tunings are a good way to justify the need for more basses. just saying.
Good call. Crank the amp, and don’t use a tuner - tune by ear against another note on the bass. Then change tunings every practice song. A few days of “Ok next one! boooo BOOOO boooo BOOOOO booooooo BOOOOOO booooo BOOOOOO boooo BOOOO Hey does that sound close to you guys?” and they will buy a second bass for you.
Apparently I am a bass enthusiast.
