Yeah the standout 604 colors are the Dark Red Burst and the Transparent Black, IMO. Though the natural ones look great in person, too. None of them look as good in pics as they do in person - the black one is especially gorgeous, a deep mix of really dark blue/greys, but just looks black in pics.
I was just thinking what would be pretty on a 604 would be the same color scheme, but with a bluish/grey scheme.
I’ve done a bit of luthering in my time. I mainly do gunsmithing as a hobby, and it so happens to translate well to guitars.
By the way Howard, you’ve completely hooked me to Joy Division. Been listening to the “Unknown Pleasures” album quite a bit while I work.

I’m so happy! It’s an incredible album, one of the best albums of all time really.
With self-defense volume control spikes, and a Trooper headstock that’ll run guys through. 
I like that stuff too. There’s not much I don’t like to be honest. Like my music tastes.

It’s funny really. Growing up in the 90’s, teen culture pretty much dismissed Hair Metal and proto/post punk, and we really shouldn’t have because it was pretty good stuff.
Until about five years ago, I didn’t know who Dio was. (Shameful, I know.) Got into the Stooges with a young Iggy Pop as well.

I would love to. We’ll see what happens when I get my refund in; most of it is still left.
Only problem is, nearest guitar store is a 3 hour drive one way. Also interested in checking out a Hofner; they come in black too.
On a personal note, this isn’t a metal thing per se. I am writer too, and I write horror. I come by my black honestly

No kidding? In my youth I wrote all kinds of short-stories, a lot of them sci-fi.
And black is sexy as hell, metal or no metal. As a younger guy I had a 1997 Mustang in jet black. Used to wash the paint off the car.

Just learned the 2018 and later Stingrays got a ton of weight shaved off and are now only ~3.6kg. Anyone have a very recent EBMM? That’s fantastic, right in the range I like.
These Ibanez EHB’s are all kinds of gorgeous and hideous at the same time. I kind of love them.
Like, how did they match that fretboard color to that body. The body looks awesome, the headless bit is super unusual and cool, and yet that is just a horrible color combo with the fretboard and the rose metallic pink.

Look-wise I prefer the 504 over the 604. at least this particular picture.

Yeah this new color is very good. The overall 504/604 shape looks very nice in a natural satin finish like that. The brown 504 looks nice too, but not as nice as this new color I think. It’s great.

I have to agree. I’m not a big fan of the angle cuts on the 604. That’s the main thing that stopped me from being able to check all the boxes on wanting one.

personnaly that’s the figured maple top that I don’t like. I much prefer solid colors or at least a less flashy wood.
