He disappeared for a bit then came back
Wait till @T_dub finds out we went to Mars ![]()
“WE LANDED ON THE MOON!” - Lloyd Christmas
Lobster describes it as she found her new glasses.
Ahh! Got it. Its totally cool, just was a total shocker.
I literally thought it was a costume for a special reason when I first saw it.
But she looks like she has a blast on stage, with better presence than when she was he. He was kind of goofy on stage as a guy.
Yep clearly wasn’t being himself at the time. The difference in self confidence and presence now is huge. Super happy for her.
And Brubaker makes it to his own funeral!
I remember it as about a 6 month disappearance. I was worried for health reasons. Very happy for her for how it turned out.
At the moment, I’m playing on an Ibanez Micro scale. But I’m thinking about a Yamaha BB 434 in Tobacco sunburst to go full scale.
Excellent choice!
And welcome to the forum.
I play acoustic guitar (mostly open chords -trying to learn fingerstyle) and write folk songs. I am also a lefty…selection of Left-Handed Basses is fairly limited; however, Sweetwater had Sires on sale and I picked up a P7…..playing in passive until I get past the basics! (Dulcimer, Bass & Guitar are Lefty…wife also plays and she is a righty)
My wife is back in Tokyo next week and I have my eye on a couple of basses.
First up, I love my Fender (boooooo!) American Vintage and they’ve just had one in stock in Olympic white:
It’s not a cheap bass. Will run me about £1,685 (US$ 2,260) as opposed to £2,360 (US$ 3,162) if I bought one here.
Second up is another Fender (booooooo!), this one an MIJ.
This one will run me about £689 (US$ 923).
If Taniguchi can have whichever bass delivered to my wife’s hotel, that should preserve the relationship of attachment between me and my plums.
Here’s their lefty stock if anyone else is feeling @howard ’s influence:
I would definitely go for Fender Japan there. Quality is great.
Seriously? Over my beloved American Vintage?
You’ll see ![]()
Being totally serious here, at the risk of being separated from my plums for the rest of my life, I’m planning on asking my wife to bring me one back next week. I might be able to convince her, whilst retaining plum attachment, if Taniguchi will deliver to her hotel (which they almost certainly will).
Is the MIJ likely to be THAT good or is the American Vintage THAT bad?
The other issue for me, and probably the most significant, is that I really like the 7.25”neck of the Vintage as I find it easier to play with my tiny little hands.
No Howard, I’m not buying both!
I’d be happy to have the American Vintage.
I already have one, in the now-discontinued sea foam green, and I love it. Howard made me buy it last year, although in his defence, there were no MIJ Fenders in the store at the time.
I’d love to have the Olympic white one and first thing I’d do is sling a set of flat wounds on it.
