Do I do sheet music stevie wonder question

Hello! I finished the bass buzz course and now i’m raring to transcribe music and learn all my favorite songs when all of a sudden I hit the Do i Do song by stevie wonder.

A lot of sheet music I see has the bass guitar tuned down to Eb and I have no idea why and its weird and confusing. I’d rather have to retune my bass to play this song. Is there a reason they do this? are there certain notes that are too low with regular tuning?

The name of the video I was following is here: Do I Do - Stevie Wonder - Bass Cover and Lesson from Greg Fairweather - Bass Guitar.

They all seem to be tuned down a half step. The low Eb is the reason why.

There are more 4 string players than 5 string. It’s easier to drop tune to Eb than either play that note on A string or only make 5 string tabs. If you are tabbing for the mass it’s just easier to just drop tune.

Sorry retune? So you are also drop tuning? What’s the question again?

Can also be played as Drop D, which is simpler to tune:
