But have you figured out yet if you should panic?
That’s awesome Barney!
Wild. You are actually a professional musician now ![]()
I mean sure it’s on the side, but you met the definition - you’re making actual cheddar from playing. That’s more than I ever did (despite gigging).
Lots of pro musicians with day jobs!
That’s fantastic! Props!
The one thing I missed most after retiring was the audiences. Motorola sent me all over the world for speaking engagements. That was such a rush. I really, really need to up my bass game and do what @JoshFossgreen said and just “join a f’ing band!”
I mean it’s a long old road starting with never having played an instrument as an adult to playing in a band in a bar, but in my case I think the hard work has paid off @TheMaartian. All it took was three years and thousands of hours sat in the spare room working away ![]()
Now it’s just a laugh. I’m playing music with friends with people dancing to it. There are way worse things to do with your spare time. Anybody can do this, just put in the work.
Lol a keytar. It’s been a minute.
Great work!!!
Struggling to fit into your ‘European sized’ Bass Buzz shirt?
Not to worry, as our band now has merch. Generous North American sizing / cut t-shirts. ![]()
N.B. I’ve ordered a Bass Buzz t-shirt because @JoshFossgreen changed my life (for the better of course), also I’m joking unless you really, really, really want me to send you a sweet t-shirt from Canada.
So cool to see your band progress @Barney ![]()

What a killer venue
Now you’ve hit the big time!
I listened to Amos Heller on an SBL podcast and he said ‘treat every gig like an audition, because you never know who’s watching’
From last nights gig we got a birthday gig booked from a lady who’d never seen us before and thought they look fun, I want them for my party. ![]()
This is so awesome!
And it’s a nice advice too, treating every gig as an audition. Who knows where it may lead? Congrats, Barney! Nice T-shirts as well!
rockstar!
Very cool!
How did you like the Ampeg?
