GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

Harley Benton Bass Expander DI, @Barney . Not expensive, quite small and lots of :fireworks: for :deer:

If you like, I can lend you mine to try.

Very nice, is that a 434? I just got a new BB for Christmas in red.

Yep! Bass twins!

My wife got me the 734, but in the same metallic red. I just got the one with the active preamp. That color is gorgeous, wait till you see it in person. Pictures don’t do it justice and if you play in a room without windows, take it out to where you can see it with natural light hitting it. The fretboards are the same rosewood as well and they feel so good under the fingers. If you like yours even half as much as I do mine, you’ll love it.

I had one. It was nice because it could run on a battery and had a headphone output, making it perfect for practicing on the go. The overdrive feature was a bit underwhelming, but the clean tone sounded decent.

I’m pretty sure the SGT sounds a lot better, but I like the Ampeg tone.

Looking at your pedalboard, you could also add an overdrive/distortion pedal, which can double as a preamp if you want to shape your tone. If you’re already running it into another amp, that approach makes more sense. An EQ pedal might also be a good option.

Adding a small amp/cab sim pedal at the end of your chain is also an idea. Or a second Helix one

There (here) she is

Very nice instrument, easy to play, no buzzing but action is pretty low so - keeper (for now)

I had to put my trip across the metro area on hold. We had a nasty ice storm overnight, and I’m not driving 40 miles through that for a guitar. A BB1200 possibly, but not for a guitar.

I’ve been having my eye on the Ice Blue version.

I think you just solved it…that’s exactly where it goes.

This is actually an amazing deal (if you can wait until the end of the year to receive the instrument) - insanely good-sounding fretless:

Wow, what an amazing deal on a superbly stunning instrument.

I am getting a whiff of a fretless in your future, brother. :imp:

Yeah it is, while I’m so giddy to pull the trigger my spidy sense kept telling me it’s too go to be true.

Haha, I already have a fretless (though not from our Polish friends). And… I am over-committed as it is.
Speaking of which: this one is even ā€œworseā€ :astonished:

What the ever-loving fuck?!

That price is way below dealer/wholesale cost!!

Is this guy even remotely legit?!

Ah, wait… I re-read (or, actually re-loaded the page) as I was about to ask him… Now, it says ā€œpre order depositā€ So, it’s the deposit he is asking for here, and the total price is given as €4890
I don’t know if it’s him or Reverb that though having a 62% price drop sign there would be a smart idea

OK, I know what’s going on here. Your Italian buddy is inadvertently pulling a fast one. Again, I don’t think he’s intentionally being deceptive, but he sure is not being clear.

Check out his stated total price, misspelled as it may be, in his product description:
