GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

Popped into a few music stores in Sapporo today. The usual stuff and a few nice ones but this was the coolest little one.

Yeah those are the ESP BanG Dream ones I was talking about in the other thread

The one I like is the Roselia (the red one)

Almost gassed on those

Check out the Harley Benton Spaceship Power 60 (60 cm wide (23.6")). I bought one. It’s way bigger than I need (I have 9 pedals on it and room for more), but the built-in power supply can handle 9, 12 and 18 VDC pedals and has a couple of high-power outputs. Rock-solid build quality.

Size comparison of the full size (34" scale) and the mini (28" scale):

They have full and mini for all of them, and the minis are just adorable. The full size are either $500 or $5k, depending on quality level chosen (production model or MIJ ESP).

There’s also guitars, other basses, drums, and at least one Roland Keytar

This is easily the most brilliant product marketing of all time.

Top level page for all of them:

BanG Dream! - Wikipedia!

Multiple concerts coming up (with the show’s voice actors playing the instruments and singing the bands’ songs live) at $50-$75 a seat, will sell out too. They also act out show drama in the concerts that then gets folded back in to the animated series as aftermath, so there’s incentive to go for fans.

This has been going for a decade now. Utterly f’ing brilliant marketing collaboration.

Hmm, there’s some new models with only full scale so far. NGL The Morfonica Bottom Bump is pretty sweet:

Cool pickguard on this one too:

I’ll fly the flag for my hometown, and recommend the Black Country Customs ‘Custard Factory’ compressor. It’s made by Laney in Halesowen. The Custard factory was a well known rock club in Cannock.
Anyway, I’m really happy with it, and the quality is excellent. I also have ‘The 85’ Octave pedal from BCC too, and that is also amazing.

Those knobs look awesome on the black pedals.

They do indeed. I’ll pick up the ‘Blackheath’ distortion at some point too, to complete the set of bass pedals!

The '85 sounded pretty awesome too.

Seriously digging the look. Vernier style knobs, black enclosure, thin line art and typography; 10/10

I tried the Octobass first and the dropout was horrendous on the E string., so I sold that and got The 85.
The tracking on The 85 is flawless, even on the low B of my Ibanez. I’m very happy with it
And yeah, the aesthetics are great too. Even the packaging is quality!

There always seems to be some changes on presenters.
Always good to see Cici and Lee on the bass vids, but Nathan is great too.

Yeah, me too. He went on tour.

I like that compressor. It sounded great (Nathan’s playing didn’t hurt, though!).

I didn’t wanted to take my katana go on vacation and bought this one. I thought it would be ok but it’s not only ok it’s awesome out of the box. Had to share this🤘

The link is German and the older version but very good to get an impression of the headamp.
