That’s the Mark Hoppus signature Jag (Volume / No tone knob).

That’s your cue to type ‘Who TF is Mark Hoppus in the googler’ @david.addis

I wonder if those are all of them and now they are all dirty

Shouldn’t that go into the “Ugly Duckling” thread? :joy: Man, that’s bad, really bad imho.

Well, they’re sold as soft aged… :person_shrugging:

Well, I don’t have that colour and pickup configuration yet

Ahh yes, the old artisanal “take them outside and leave them in the dirt” school of luthiering.

They probably know what to do not to damage them (and how to do it if it has to look real enough).

Here’s a video of their specialist in ‘ruining’ perfectly fine basses

Not for the faint of heart obviously.

Oh, lordy, but I do despise the road-worn look on a perfectly good new bass. If all basses made in the future were road-worn only, my admittedly perpetual state of G.A.S. would finally be cured.

Well, there’s a market for those, especially since acrylic paint doesn’t age the same as those old nitro finishes.

I agree 100%. I would not want to buy such a thing.

To each his own. As long as I don’t need to buy one… :joy:

I bought a new Sandberg P once. It looked pristine in the photos, even though its description said something to the effect of “lightly aged.”

It was lightweight and had a comfortable neck, but its “aging” soured it for me: its otherwise beautiful finish was marred by some small marks all over its body that looked exactly like someone had randomly stabbed it with a flathead screwdriver. There was no rhyme or reason to the stabs. It sure didn’t look like the instrument had somehow … aged. It just looked like somebody had intentionally fucked up the finish.

Given its high price and how much the arbitrary finish-ruining pissed me off every time I saw it, I returned it.

Not only that you can summon your inner Ida and just smack, :joy:

I love gold hardware. :two_hearts:

I agree Mike, I wouldn’t have handled that well lol. If I wanna see something “aged” I look in the mirror. I’m very picky about mine, prob too picky.

they’re more famous for amps and heads. I know you know them

Never played their bass, but it has had good reviews. I had one HB bass and it was the worst instrument I ever had, which is why I don’t talk HB much.

Which one did you have?
