Like @John_E I had the SGT-DI but it took up a lot of space so I sold it.
Going to give this a go with the band now we are on IEMs. Looking for a nice sounding pre amp I can send to FOH and our inner ears but still use my cabs for stage monitors. Also running this means I don’t have to run my MarkBass head at rehearsals just bring my board.
Really enjoyed the HX One, so much so that I’m going to try the Helix world again (using HX Edit, which I came to hate with my HX Stomp).
Bought a HX Effects on Black Friday Sale ($230 off). I don’t need amp modelling to play live so this seems the best one for me.
I used pedal playground to see if it would work before buying. It’s free and lets you choose your pedalboard and pedals. Then drag them around to fit / configure.
The BassRig Fifteen preamp goes to FOH and my amp. The second preamp (NUX MLD) is so I can run it to my IEMs from our digital mixer and change the mix how I like it without affecting the FOH mix.
Ugh. Fricking GAS. After playing my buddy’s Signature level Roscoe, as I noted in the Bass Porn thread, it totally blew me away. The prices on the Signatures are a bit steep (worth it IMHO) but I found a used Custom SKB nicely configured at a price that made sense. Love the waterfall Bubinga top, swamp ash body, and ebony board - not to mention I’m a sucker for Nordstrands.
OK, now I’m really looking forward to this arriving tomorrow!
My buddy found a comment from the previous owner of my bass, who thought very highly of it. He now has two six-string Roscoes. I had to check to make sure he wasn’t dead.
I’ve wanted a jazzmaster since I was a teenager. I like the fixes Leo did for the G&L version better tbh. It’s got a normal bridge that shockingly won’t need to be replaced as soon as you buy it and a better trem system. Those are G&L MFD’s in there, and instead of the rhythm circuit, its got the PTB which is a 2 band passive EQ.
