Ahh cool; I am sure those are better.

Nope, dramatically prefer P90’s.

Like, the MIJ Hybrid II with the P90s here sounds sooooo much better to me:

…and those Jazzmaster pups were very high quality (Fralins). They just are not my thing at all.

OTOH, dual P90s like that are my second favorite pickup combo.

thats a beautiful instrument!

I think so, the Doheny pickups are humbucking for starters. The bridge is the biggest thing about the JM that ai didnt care for and the Doheny has the stock G&L bridge, which is waaay better. Here’s the closest I could find A/B’ing them.

You guys ever just wake up and for some odd reason, just want to buy a telecaster? thats been me since like monday and im not sure why

I have in fact done exactly that

It’s kind of weird, at least for me. I have 2 guitars I already don’t play enough. a PRS and a Jackson King V

Yep. I’ve been digging the ASAT a lot while I’ve been trying to nail down which flavor of jazzmaster I wanted.

Love the ASAT Classic S. Fun electronics G&L style.

I’ve never played around with a bigsby before. I kinda want to, but I’m worried I’d love it and I’ve read that they’re a PITA to change strings on.

I’ve tried to learn guitar for 30 something years. I’ve managed to stick with it for a few months this time so I feel okay spoiling myself a little bit. I can consistently play barre chords now… I’ve quit guitar before because of those things.

I’m lucky that after trying many, I have found the guitar line that fits me best. I liked my Telecaster a lot and I’ve had some other good ones, but for me it’s pretty clear that the Revstar is it. Bonus is that they are not expensive.

Thank you for talking me into my Revstar, I absolutely love what I can do with it and it feels fantastic to play on. Kevin Shields told me a long, long time ago that I needed a jazz, so I’m finally going to listen to him.

Btw, on the helix there’s a preset called Shields Starter and it’s exactly that. There’s also one for Robin Guthrie that I was playing the opening of Cherry Coloured Funk and its about spot on.

I think you’re going to love the thing. Boss makes good stuff but Line 6 is just a level up.

I just need to figure out how to use it. :joy: I haven’t managed to be able to assign a few default bass and guitar presets to the top row of footswitches yet. The SVT4-PRO and 800RB presets sound fantastic. Like, fant-freaking-tastic.
