GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

That looks fabulous though

Yeah I dig those things

It took a little getting used to the strap button. Otherwise its just an awesome bass to play. Even the Mk I. I’m going to end up with a Mk II eventually, I wish I’d just gotten one in the first place. I was deadset on the straight P bass at the time, like a dummy.

It’s basically a Revstar bass

Lol. The body of the Revstar is bigger (and heavier). The shape of the body though, yep. Yep it is.

Wattplower needs racing stripes badly

I really dig it with the lighter fretboard, not sure which I like better tbh. The inlays on mine pop more. I think the ā€œWattplowerā€ one around the 19th fret is just rad.

Does the body have contours or is it a slab?

It’s got contours

Cool. Couldn’t tell from the front photos.

Makes sense, its Mike Watt’s signature bass and he’s got a bit if Dadbod going (absolutely no shame, most us do). Having that belly cutout is useful.

Love me some well done contours on a bass.

That said, the exception was a Sandberg I owned briefly, like a week. It had a thin body and deep contouring. In fact, it hugged so close that it felt like a damn Strat. Just didn’t do it for me.

It left room for growth… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I definitely don’t need another instrument but if I did this would be a contender.

Way cool! I bought mine from a shop in Barcelona. It was listed without a gig bag, but they shipped it in a decent 3rd party gig bag that I was pretty happy with. But now? I got hosed! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m still considering grabbing one of their hardcases for mine. Not impossible but finding a solid hardcase for a 30ā€ scale isnt the easiest thing. I’m holding off though in case I get one with the mk ii or if I land on the Descent for my baritone.

HA, the one thing i wished it had was the dark fretboard, but the light one is growing on me

ugh, expensive week.

I did a thing, another thing.

Bernunzio Uptown Music is two blocks from my work apartment in Rochester, and I have been eyeing an upright there for months - and then black friday.

25% off, I couldn’t pass it up

Came with an amazing padded bag that new goes for over $500, and a spare set of new strings to boot…and a misc. red Sharpie (score!). Preamp mounted on bass as well with onboard EQ. The sticker has to go, carefully somehow.
Well used and needs some cleaning, but so looking forward to learning new bass stuff.

Think I figured it out. I wish the inlays on the lighter fretboard were dark. If they’d gone that route, I think I’d like that one better.

I’m on the hunt for a Yamaha BB2004 white. I don’t think there’s a gold hardware except for his. @howard ?
