GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

That just means you need to buy it now. You got a second chance!

The deal is still there.

Really sweet price for a green Sterling 5-string Ray.

If it were 4 string and like $50-100 cheaper I probably would have pulled the trigger

Not into fivers (or green), myself.

Still, it is a great deal for the right someone. :money_mouth_face:

I’s purty, I need to stop looking at it!

Yep. It’s a stupid-good deal for sure. I have no need for it. Don’t need another bass. Nope. Totally tempted. Must have it.

Yeah, just wait. The right deal will come soon.

Rule #1 for GASsing. Buy when a good deal comes along and not when you need.

I don’t know about GC/MF, but Sweetwater won’t ship to France and there’s a bunch of pages on their website that they won’t even let me access. Even if MF would sell and ship it, the 25-30% import duty would wipe out the SDotD savings. Besides, when I need/want a StingRay tone, I’d grab my EBMM T.C. passive shorty. The Ray35 would just be one more well-priced bass collecting dust. I have enough of those already.

It’s still a spectacular deal for the right player.

Fender have the lefty Am Pro ll Jazz bass in Dark Night back in stock………

I assume they have one fewer now than when you found out they were in stock.

After all, you already had permission to buy it.

This was literally Vanessa response when I messaged her it was back in stock

“Oh my love. Buy it right now. I’ll genuinely be upset if you don’t xx”

Needless to say I had already bought it

I’ve been saving up my pennies to get myself an Empress Bass Compressor pedal, as I build up a selection of analog pedals, but I might’ve had my head turned by the Darkglass Microtubes Infinity (even if it isn’t analog ) …

I just need to figure out if it’ll work with my existing pedals (JHS Double Dragon & Tonex One Bass Edition). I’ve got a Marshall Drivemaster but the Darkglass gives me access to a lot more than just drive, so presumably would replace it? I really like the look of all the output options the Darkglass offers, and it does compression too :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Oh and I’ll need to save a few more pennies compared to getting the Empress pedal

Phil

DR Sunbeams sound just really good, at least on my basses and they age nicely!

I’m on travel in San Diego so I stopped in the music store that @Al1885 Al told me about. Pitbull audio. A couple of nice guys there to talk to. I only walked out with a tee shirt but it was fun looking around.

Pitbull Audio is a great online vendor.

I bought my Sire V8 and Sterling Ray shorty from them. They also are one of the best US Mayones dealers.
