Dang it no!

Oh, I definitely recognize myself as #4 on this list. And so far I’m happy there.

That’s 100% me!

Stopped in both of my local Sam Ash stores this past weekend, pretty much picked clean at this point. But I did find a new-in-box Line 6 HX One at one of the locations for over 50% off. Snatched it up on a whim.

Its a cool little pedal, basically 250 different pedals in one, with high quality modeling.

What it doesn’t have, unlike most of the other HX products, is the ability to combine multiple pedal effects at once and it does not have any IR or Cabinet sims.

I currently have it in my signal chain like this: Darkglass Harmonic Booster → Darkglass Infinity → Line 6 HX One → Zoom B1 Four.

I’m open to suggestions on how best to make use of this new acquisition though. Any pedal wizards out there who can provide some insight?

Nice work on that @brik1970 that’s a great deal.

Try the Retro Reel pedal. It’s a modulation effect. This model simulates the effect of playing back a tape from an old-school analog tape player. There are various parameters to make the simulated playback warble, distort, flutter, and speed up or slow down. There are also high and low cut settings.

At default settings it’s a very subtle effect that fattens up your tone a bit.

Thanks Barney, I’ll fiddle with that and let you know

I’ll admit, I never thought anyone would be nostalgic for tape hiss.

there’s other tape saturation effects out there too, yeah. Pretty popular effect in synths for the lofi crowd.

Its more for the saturation/compression. But yeah also all the lofi-ness too

Think of it like Instagram filters that make your beautiful perfect digital photos look old and crappy

You misunderstand, it’s not hiss. It’s the wow and flutter you get with old tape. There are lots of modulation effects which operate in this realm.

It’s a fun effect to play with.

Hi Everyone! It’s been a while and I hope everyone is doing great.
I couldn’t find any comments in this forum regarding the Boss Katana 110B.
Does anyone own one or had experience with it?

Not my GAS, but the guitarist in the band. He turned up last night with a medal board case so big that a) it need wheels and b) you could fit a body in it! The picture is of its contents, against my tiny Hotone Ampero One! I felt rather inadequate

I own Boss Katana 110b. I really like it. I like the ability to custom the tone through the amp without pedals. I like the ability to store the custom tones on a computer to retrieve later.

Thank you for your comment. That customization is exactly what I’m interested in. I have a preamp I like and other than that I don’t want to spend on pedals. I’m also interested in that 1W function for low volume practicing since I live in an apartment! Thanks!

I use the 1 watt function most of the time, since I have my elderly parents living with me and the wife.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks.

It’s commendable that you’re taking care of your folks but I saw this post and couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a joke. Technically, they’re living under your roof now so . . . Ha ha. I’m picturing your parents sitting around the table with your family and the water cups are splashing around like it’s Jurassic Park and the T-Rex is stomping about.

That description is pretty close to what is happening, but if you make a mistake they let you know it right away. There is nothing like a bunch of rockers in their mid 80’s…

Toyah and Robert can verify

(ok I guess Fripp is more late '70s)

Early ā€˜70s, I’d say. Court of the Crimson King was released in 1969.
