Thanks! I was told it was a custom. I think the only thing the previous owner modded was the preamp.
That is deep!
Nice - congrats!
Now if only theyād do a matching headstockā¦
Ouch
Cool, thatās a Fender I actually like the look of!!
It looks amazing ! Enjoy
Yeah, I am not a huge fan of the look of Fenders, but wanted one for the sound. I cane across this one and it was perfect!
Agreed!!! The headstock looks so out of place on this! Any ideas to make it look better?
I might have to try this ha ha!
Sorry, itās a Fender thingā¦ the sock might be a solution though
Since youāre askingā¦ I think it looks fine. Personally, Iād leave it as-is.
Oh, I will. Itās a Fender
Totally this. I feel like Iām in the minority, but I donāt dig matching headstocks. I like a vintage-y tint on the headstock personally. (Or headless, as Iām discovering.) @suegmc that is a stunning bass. Bet it sounds fantastic with that Audere too. Congrats!
Thanks so much! I will get used to the headstock, but I will really only be looking at that gorgeous body, lol! It sounds amazing, but I need to play it more and really dial it in.
There aināt no right or wrong. Just personal prefs.
1000% !
Thatās why I generally will qualify my statements about likes and dislikes with the fact that this is merely my personal preference/opinion. Doesnāt make it right or wrong for anybody else, or even establish that there is a right or wrong. Itās all good!
You paid for that headstock shape and the Spaghetti Logo. If Iām just after the tone of a jazz bass and donāt mind whatās on the headstock then there are many options thatās not only better but cheaper as well. That said none would hold the value more than a Fender.
Both for me over time, strong preference for finished headstocks unless the neck is maple. Does not have to match.
Maple necks, slight preference for a finished headstock, but Fender style looks less bad to me there.
The biggest problem with Fender headstocks, though, is that their big rounded end is radiused too large and makes them big and clumsy looking, like 1.5x too big IMO. This is more apparent on strats:
but also a thing on their basses.
Strongly prefer the look of Sire and Yamaha here:
That looks so much better to me than Fender. And this even more:
Both of those look a lot better IMO, but as said above, this is a personal preference thing.
