How is the weather?

I hear y’all on the east coast are expecting a good storm.

I have actually heard something like that, when we were in China in winter a few years ago, the local lake/pond was freezing and we decided to skip stones across it.
Such a weird noise.
What was funny was watching the confused ducks trying to land.

here’s what I’m waking up to. Wind has backed off slightly, lots of power outages though. Theres about a 4 foot snow drift in front of my truck that i can’t wait to drive through.

Can’t even see outside some windows because the wind is crazy and blowing the snow everywhere. Just moved back from NC this past August and MA has gotten more snow than it has in the last 3 years.

Its going to be 66 today in Colorado-land. We continue on with the year of no winter. We’re so screwed when fire season spins up.

I am also a member of a “snowblower” support forum (hey, there’s one for every hobby and we need it to discuss upkeep, maintenance and repairs)…

…there is quite the discussion thread going about that nor’easter cyclone bomb back east. Very impressive photo images posted on it thus far. My response to them is “welcome to my world” because that snow accumulation is typical for any given single storm in any given year… EXCEPT this one!

I am up the hill from @faydout and on a normal year I would have used my blower at least a couple times and we would be (on an average year) upwards a good cumulative 300" (760 cm) so far at this time towards another 100" before winter’s end.
I estimate (unscientifically, observation only) that I have had about 30" (70 cm) and have only brought out the snowblower 3X. I have not even needed to get the pick-up and plow out and about!

This is SO atypical for a winter in the High Country…

Thank god our crazy conditions in Chamonix have settled now and we have been able to get out and play in it instead:

Low 30s tonight and tomorrow night. After 3 mid 20s nights 2 weeks ago, this will finish up every living tree in my front and back yard. I lost my Ice Cream bananas, my Mango tree, my Avocado tree and a bunch of Arica Palms. The bananas were 12 to 15 foot tall, they are in a pile up front. I hope the city takes them or I’m going to have to haul them in several loads. I did have a nice lush green jungle going where no other houses could be seen. Not so much anymore. We aren’t built for this in South Florida! If it has to be this cold, why can’t it snow?

It was getting real nice here it seemed, but then we just had a blizzard. Today was “feels-like” -1°. I didn’t notice that when I checked the weather and decided to roll my happy ass to the store cause I thought it was 11°. I know that still may seem very low, but as many of you know, being above zero really makes a difference (to me anyway). I’m over this shit man, can we have spring now?

We got 22.5 inches of snow from 9PM Saturday through about 11AM today.

We had a low this morning of 5 degrees (f) and the high on Thursday is supposed to be 85 - 90 so they’re expecting an 80 - 85 degree turnaround in temps over 80 hours.

Holy shit

Midwest? :joy:

Nope, Colorado. This is more than normal, we’ve never had temps this high in mid March before but 60 degree temps swings aren’t that unusual for us.

I hear that. 60 degree differential this week in these parts.
