I think @Krescht is your man to ask about all things gold
Well… No
I do like gold as a colour for the body of a bass, but that’s about all. A gold pick guard might look good on a black body though, as long as the hardware stays chrome
It absolutely would!
But do remember that…
BEAUTY!
Hard to visualize sometimes but this clearly looks good!
The best color to pair with black is… more black
I saw someone use a completely black pickguard (no white border) and it had this blackout effect - so nice!
I had a bass that I made all black, come to discover, I liked the concept better than the result.
For me the only way it works is with matte black. Gives the bass kind of a more dynamic look than all gloss black, an effect kind of like looking at greyscale photos.
Another thing I love about my particular instrument is that every BB734A I have seen has an exceptionally nice rosewood fretboard. It’s like Yamaha goes the extra mile there. Just a gorgeous color contrast with the black, and it also seems to make the woodgrain stand out more, if that makes sense.
Mine was a Jaguar with an Ebony fretboard, it was all black
Black doesn’t seem like it’s in Fender’s usual DNA, which is another reason the P-Bass Noir is so stunning I guess. The black Aerodynes are pretty nice too though.
Black with Maple is a good look IMO as well.
The weird thing is I don’t usually go for black instruments, but when they grab me, they grab me hard
Yeah the jag was a limited edition.
I kinda miss my black stream, but kinda glad it’s sold too. I don’t need all the basses I have, and my new EHB has a 41mm nut so I got that covered.
Beg to differ
And yes, it has a salami pick guard
That’s beautiful!
FGN Fujigen J-Std Mighty Jazz Dark Evolution Bass. Active, black and a maple neck! My son is using this one now. I got a stealth black Bongo for my needs
GEEBUS that is sexy!
