Welcome, I’m jealous of your past playing experiences! @pastorbobg
Well, it came in stages… acceptable to fairly okay. It’s hard to recall but I’d say 6-12 months of heavy practice and taking lots of advanced courses. Every day I was better than the day before. After nearly 4 years, I’m still not satisfied, but that’s normal.
It was 14 months before I worked up the nerve to record my first cover.

I’ve got 20 years on you. Regardless of age, you can do just about anything you set your mind to.
Thank you @cheeze_pizza
I’m planning on some funky colored strings to liven it up some more. Some day I’ll save enough for a pretty GAS bass!
Hi! I’m Anick. I started playing bass back in high school in the 90s. Then, life happened, and I didn’t touch my bass for about 20 years. I just picked it up recently and started playing in a 3-piece band. But I realized, by watching BassBuzz’s videos, that I never had a proper foundation. So right now, I’m kind of unlearning some bad techniques I had. Such a game-changer in my playing!
Looking forward to making new connections in this space!

That’s amazing. I’ve kayaked down some amazing European rivers, but only ever sea-kayaking in US/CA. Clearly I need to come back.
If you ever find yourself in southern France as the alpine snow melts, there’s a river called La Durance that you would enjoy ![]()
Welcome @AnickB !
Hi All, I’m 61, a drummer and decided that it was time to make some melodies instead of banging on things. I picked up a second hand short scale Squier Jaguar bass and have been having a lot of fun. My drums are feeling a little neglected!
I love the the well placed humor that Josh add to his videos, and thats what attracted me to this channel. Keep it up Josh!

Welcome, @Miked. Glad you’re here. Banging is cool, but thumping is badass. Enjoy the lessons!
