Welcome @MarkH
Hey Everyone, name is Ken, 29. I use to sing in a few metal bands. I went to school for music production(favorite thing to produce is synthwave), learned a little bit of Mandolin but sadly had to give that away because I moved to a different state. Bass has always been something that has called towards me. I decided to give it a fair shot and ended up here. I hope to see the growth for all of us on this adventurous journey.
Welcome!

Welcome @Kenneth !
Hi, I’m Michael and a complete bass beginner. I have some (rusty) experience with e-guitar and am also dabbling with synths (a whole rabbit hole of its own).
To get more away from screen (day job is also on PC) I more or less spontaneously bought a bass from thomann (which I will return, 5-string, cheapo…) and enrolled in local music school to start right off enforcing good technique and practicing.
Ah and why bass? 1. I love that sound! 2. Already in high school (a loooong time ago) I was asked whether I wouldn’t want to learn bass. What should I say, I was really fixated on becoming a guitar player (which never really hapened) so that was absolutely out of the question for me…
Now I’m regretting not having learnt this cool instrument at younger years but I think even with 50 I still can learn a lot.
Seems like a nice community here!

Greetings - Just signed up for the Beginner course (Late March 2024). Have been a guitar hack (I’m not very good) -on and off for many years but the bass always intrigued me. I got my first bass for my 64th birthday (4 months ago). Saw some of Josh’s videos on YT and liked his style. Not sure how much time I have to progress, so hitting it hard.
