Introduce Yourself! (2025)

Hi All, I bought this course during Covid as something to keep me occupied. I put it on the back burner due to real life getting in the way and am now starting my bass journey. I’m from the North West Highlands of Scotland so Bass tutors are far and few between. I’m loving your teaching style Josh and I’m focussed to become competent on the bass. I love funk rhythms such as Graham Central station etc but any fat bass sound is amazing as far as I’m concerned. I play the bagpipes, smallpipes, tin whistles regularly with others in sessions and just love music in all shapes and forms. Hope everybody here has a wonderful year exploring their musical ability and realising anyone can literally make music.
All the best ,
Will.

Isle of Skye is beautiful, been there a few times.
It was a stop over on our way to Benbecula when I was in the military.

It’s lovely here for sure. For once it hasn’t been raining all week. I’ve been over to Uist(Benbecula) quite a few times. I’m blessed to live in such a chilled out part of the world.

Hello from Berlin! I started on bass just at the end of last year. I tried that other bass course but didn’t like it. This said, after playing my favourite Post-Punk songs on Songsterr, I realised that I need to work on my technique now, so I don’t have to un-train bad habits later! :sun_with_face:

Excellent! I like to get out to the Cuillins and the Trotternish when I can!

Hey fellow bass players. I’m 39 and I started to learn to play the bass one year ago because I realized that if I’m listening to music I’m always focused on the bass or heavy bass music (like METZ, DITZ or IDLES). And also because I thought its a good brain exercise to learn something new. Since then I took a lot of classes, watched a couple of videos and tried to challenge some tough songs. But sometimes I really get frustrated because my hand feels so stiff and hurts sometimes. Can anyone relate? Is that normal? But anyway, Im glad to be a part of this community and will keep on practicing. Best from Berlin Germany
