Hello All, and thanks for having me
mid 50s, and dabble with a few instruments but would love to get some motivation, encouragement, guidance and ultimately progress on Bass.

Signed up, though I’m not 100% sure about online courses in general, they’ll have all the information but not sure about the motivation, encouragement and guidance. I guess for that I’ll have to immerse myself in an online community and hope for the best.

That might come across as a negative thing to start off with, but it isn’t meant to be. I’m not of the online generation so immersing myself in an online community is alien. As I said I dabble in a few instruments, for one of which I am lucky enough to have one on one in person lessons in my local area once a week. What that gives me is motivation to practice before next weeks class, a teacher who can watch and hear me play in real life, offering guidance and encouragement, which is again another motivator. So Bass might not get into pole position but here’s hoping. Welcome to the online world let’s get started.

Maybe I need an imaginary friend, who I have to report my Bass progress to once a week. Is there a deity of Bass? Apollo?

Welcome, @johnfwhitmore. Glad you’re here. Not at all sure about there being “an online gentleman.” Our forum members range in age from teenagers to octogenarians. Plus, this forum is unique in that anyone who can is willing to answer questions and provide help and motivation upon request. All you have to do is just participate, relax and enjoy!

Welcome, @johnfwhitmore! Another mid-50s bass newbie here. I’ve been going through the B2B course, and I’m loving it. I just finished Module 6 and I know I’ve learned a lot! This online community is also great. No BS that I’ve seen, very helpful folk.

Hello everyone! I am Oscar from Spain. A slightly crazy guy, who at his 52s is starting his dream of playing bass from scratch. I just got here and I am really delighted to join this community.
I hope in a few months to be one of those brave people who upload their videos playing their first songs.
Best regards to all!
