Welcome @gyztms92 !
Welcome! I almost bought one of those Orange basses, simply because I love the color orange ![]()
What are your thoughts on that bass?
Hello @BassJase , it really depenes on who do you ask: for example I like it, but my neighbours don’t.
Amuzement aside, it’s a good amp, and for home practice is excellent. The only downside is (for my neighbours) that it likes to gorlw a little loud.
I think even some reviewer on YT mentioned that to hear the bass properly, the master volume dial has to point to left from 12 o’clock.
Welcome to the forum! I still try to figure out how to pronounce your nickname
„ö“ is not a Romanian letter so it must be î or â?!
@BozzerWolf wow, hawk eye.
In Romanian language there is no ö/Ö or ő/Ő. Transylvania is home to many ethnic minorities, including Germans and Hungarians as well.
I’m from a tribe called Székely (pronounce C.K.), and we speak the oldest and most correct Hungarian language. Like British aristocrats think they speak the ‘original’ English. But they are posh, and we were border-patrol type of tribe/clan.
Thanks for the history lessons, I didn’t knew this. I knew about the Germans in Transylvania, Sibiu but knew nothing about the Hungarians there. Beautiful region with a good tattoo convention although.
Mult succes cu Bassu! Sper câ am scris corect![]()

It was the shortest way I could explain.
Yes, it’s correct, you only messed up the ”ă” and wrote ”â” instead. Es ist aus einem Flugzeug nicht sichtbar. ![]()
Hello! Just joined BassBuzz last week and am really enjoying my bass journey.
I am married to my wife Kim, and we have an amazing furr baby Autumn aka “Crunch”. We live in North Carolina.
My bass collection includes a Gibson G2 Thunderbird in Ebony, a Fender Jazz Bass, and a Fender Jaguar Bass. I’m currently using the G2 and getting it under my fingers.
My favorite bands/Musicians are: Kiss, David Bowie, ELO, Rod Stewart, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elvis, to name a few.
I look forward to the learning experience. I have been playing for a few years and there are so many things that were not covered, even with in-person learning, that Josh and BassBuzz has been teaching me!
Hope to see you all around in the forums! - Gerald (aka GerryStarchild)
Welcome @gerrystarchild
Thanks!

Welcome @gerrystarchild I’m glad you’re enjoying the lessons. It’s a great course.
Hi. My name is Scott, I’m 58, work in IT (for now), and live in Sonoma county, CA, USA. I’ve played 6 string since my early 20’s, but only really got serious with it in the last 4ish years. I’m very average with no real musical talent, but I do have musical obstinance and don’t care how bad I am. My goal is to just be better than I was yesterday and enjoy the ride. While creating some backing tracks for myself I had to face that fact that my bass playing blows and I need a lot of work on my rhythm. Several YouTube videos later, finding Josh and being both entertained and informed, and presto here I am in B2B.
I’d like to congratulate the BassBuzz team for putting together a first class lesson package. Seriously y’all, top notch effort. I’ll be through module 3 and maybe 4 by the end of my first week, but that’s not really much of an accomplishment as I’m not a beginner. I just let the video run and noodle on the blues box while keeping an ear out for the little nuggets that are useful for me (like understanding the drum kit and its relation to the bass … super useful and interesting!), and then I play every single workout. The slow one’s are the hardest! ![]()
I respect all genera’s of music, but mostly play blues, blues based rock, jazz blues (or is it blues jazz?), and am sprinkling in a bit of gypsy and country.
I’m also an amateur luthier and have built/assembled most of my guitars: 5 electrics, 2 acoustics (from raw wood), 1 cigar box. At some point I’ll replace the Yamaha with something I assemble from parts. (For anyone that’s considering doing something like that, please contact me and I’ll lay out why it’s a stupid idea. It’ll take longer than you think, cost way more than you think, and you’ll end up with something that has low to 0 resale value.)
See ya on the forums!
Hello Gerald and welcome!
Great basses! And David Bowie rocks!
Have fun playing bass and enjoy the course!
Welcome @ScottDeeg
Hi Scott and welcome to our community!
That’s an excellent goal, both for bass playing and life in general!
The BassBuzz course is really awesome. I learned so much from it and I’m grateful for the effort Josh put into it. It can’t be easy to teach beginners like me through an online course, but Josh can do it! I was often amazed while progressing through the modules how he could anticipate what kind of difficulties we might be having (it was as if as he could read our minds).
Have fun playing bass and welcome!
Welcome @ScottDeeg

Hi! I go by “Ghostish”. I’m a fairly new music producer who decided to pick up both guitar and bass. I’ve been producing for a little over a year and I want to eventually incorporate real guitar/bass into my music!
I just recently started learning bass a couple weeks ago and after scouring different guides and videos, I decided to stick with BassBuzz and ended up pulling the trigger on the course. I’m super excited as bass has been an instrument I’ve been wanting to learn for years.
I picked up a used ‘60s Squier Classic P-Bass in Alpine White and it was in great condition. I don’t have an amp, but I utilize my DAW (Ableton) + my audio interface with a couple amp plugins and it’s been really rewarding so far.
Good to meet you all!
