Yep but especially the Hooky, you kind of get the best of both worlds with it. You can scratch that guitar itch but there’s enough bass going there that there’s still that level of comfort. Atm, I’m still playing mine exclusively as a bass (with a pick obviously). I’m practicing chords and figuring out which ones sound good on it, but as far as playing songs, it’s all on the bottom 4 strings, 1 note at a time.
I’ve got a set of Stringjoys for it ready to go. I may break it down and do a set up on it this weekend. My wife picked up a shift for one of her folks at the hospital tomorrow.
I haven’t done anything to it yet, and that fretboard looks like it could use a couple of coats of oil.
Your right they do.
I have one, I love it and if weighs 3 or 8 pounds more than similar amps it never came into any considerations before I got it or does it now.
I have the bluetooth device arriving tomorrow.
The party is onnnnnnnn…
Ps. I just smashed out 35 minutes of The Hip, its another take 5 moment.
Get your punk on.
First thing first, you don’t ever have to use the accompanying effect via OS devices for the price it can quickly fool you with the incredible tone right out of the box. The effects and ability to add on control pedals are just icing on the cake and the amount of “Boss” effects are just cherries on top with whipped cream and crushed peanuts, .
I have a double stack of Genzler 10-2 array and the 110 can definitely hold its own against such a formidable opponent.
Yes absolutely. That’s the second tier of effects and the purist would just stick with the first tier which is the individual effects.
What I like about this setup is that at one of my gig there are both 110 and 210 available as house amps. When I need all I have to bring is my Bluetooth Dongle and may be my GA-FC and I’m at home with it. That’s next level convenient.
Yo Al1885
I should have my Dongle in my mail box today so I’ll get it tomorrow.
I love the Katana and will have available time to get more familiar with it this weekend…
Between the new Marcus and Katana I’m pumped.
The issue is after only two weeks of owning both I’m already getting gas, and by the way your very much the example.
Today I put an offer on another Marcus with a natural finish mim 4 string.
I searched Canada and found three for sale, only three found in the entire country and I checked all major sites.
A quick usa search found more but not many.
I am totally diggin the MMJB so much I would have two.
Also it may become more collectable, I think it will at least hold its value.
I’ll likely get 1 or more dialed in soon and probably not use more than the four.
Playing around with the Katana can take some time with so many sounds and variations its incredible.
It’s has tilt adjustment more than anything it’s just the right look for the bass.
Yeah I don’t touch that yet I need to get comfortable with going home first. Things happen on a gig and that’s the first thing I need to commit to muscle memory.
That said I have the Katana 50 and Katana Artist series for guitars. As little as I play guitar I definitely messed around with the effects more.
300W, 19lbs, looks like an extremely nice cabinet. With a Genz head it would probably be too clean for me though and this is a case where the Katana (which guaranteed will be less transparent than the Genz) would probably actually sound better to me for the volume ranges they can compete. Then again I dislike transparent amps in comparison to tone coloring ones - that’s what PA’s are for
What amp head do you drive the Genzlers with? Magellan?
Hmmmm … I was totally not interested in another bass. But those strings made me look at the Squier CV Bass VI. That’s an interesting bass. And with those thicker strings they should feel like a “real” bass too!?
Didn’t know that this one is a short scale. That deserves another “hmmmmmmmmmm”
