Looking for songs which are hard to find?

Good afternoon, started to take some lessons on BassBuzz. Now looking for some songs which are hard to find.
I am from Belgium, and bought me a Squier Jazz Bass.
The songs I am looking for are some Rocksmith or Guitar Pro bass items, Anyone a suggestion please ?

  1. Left Side - Like a Locomotion
  2. Daydream - The Wallace Collection
  3. Babacar - France Gall
    Thanks for any support.

@Whying_Dutchman maybe this one is for you

@fiwi is already on Customsforge, so if it’s not there it will be hard.

It’s not on https://www.songsterr.com/?

You can download ANY tab there as GP with https://www.songsterr-downloader.com/
No subscription necessary!

Unfortunately they are not on costumsforge nor songster… Whying_Dutschman GOOD TO SEE YOU. Have been missing your expertise.

Hello @Whying_Dutchman. I’ve browsed the other threads where you provide a very detailed explanation of Customforge/Rocksmith (here and here if others are interested), but I just thought of asking you here since this thread is fresh:

First, I’m looking for Molly Hatchet’s Gator Country. It is on songsterr, but it doesn’t seem right having watched another bassist’s cover, and still being new it takes me an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out what someone is playing whether audio or video.

Second, I’m on a Mac and I’m not sure I want to create an account when the fifth from last post on the Customforge “How to add songs on a Mac” thread lists several issues as of September of last year, which apparently are the same issues from 2022. Then December of last year someone posted “The Rocksmith patch download link doesn’t work.” The final post in that thread is for a patch from 2023, and older macOS.

It seems like a real hassle for one song and I just wanted to get your thoughts since you are the expert.

I know you said this, “If you have a Mac: get a proper PC … or find out yourself how that works,” (which is quite funny btw), but I thought I’d ask if you know anything more anyway, again, since you seem to know the most?

Lastly, any other recommendations on finding Gator Country?

Tia

So - you can download it with https://www.songsterr-downloader.com/

I did it and converted the Guitar Pro file to PDF:
gator-country.pdf (629.7 KB)

Is this already sufficient for you?

You can always use TuxGuitar or MuseScore (both free) to playback the GP file. Guitar Pro, of course, is better … but costs $$$ (or €€€ in freedom currency :-))

If it does not work syncronized with the GP file as is, you can use Go Playalong to synch it and then create a Rocksmith PSARC file, to be used in ToneLib Jam, for example.

How important is this song to you?

Thank you for such a quick response. Yes, I did see it on songsterr, but that notation is very different from what this guy is doing

which seems somewhat easier (not easier, but not going from 2nd to 5th fret) - but hard for me to figure out.

Again, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. The song is not all that important. At some point I guess I’ll just have to sit and spend the time breaking it down myself.

I have just read through so many of your posts offering assistance to everyone that I thought I would ask you myself.

Thanks again. And have a nice day!

So, good news:

The downloaded Guitar Pro file is 6:20 long and the song from the greatest hits is 6:18.
That means: Molly Hatchet either used a click track or they have a d@mn great drummer!

This is the only GP file I could find. What I can do is create a Rocksmith file and make a video using ToneLib Jam for you.
It will look like the videos here: List of play-along songs with synchronised tabs on Youtube

What I can’t do is: create tabs. I don’t know anything about notation - I just search and synch. Just dumb stuff, really - that’s all

I just looked at the video. The video is live. Most live stuff is played differently from studio recordings.
That explains, why the tabs don’t match.

I believe, the only way to learn that song is: using the “studio” tabs - and simplify as you go.

I do that all the time for the covers I play on my sofa

I’ve browsed through that as well. Having just spoken with you for the first time, I just want to say you are very kind and helpful - and I thank you for that.

Sincerely

If you need a video like that - just tell me.
I was quite busy the last few weeks with other stuff, but I’m sure I could make a video in the next few days…

I’m not one to bother busy people, but will do. Thanks again and have a nice day!
