Moises vs Studio one Pro

I registered my PreSonus Quantum ES 2, and I was able to download Universal Control and the manuals, but under My Products, I can only see the Presonus Quantum ES 2, but the Studio One Pro 7 is nowhere to be seen.

From the support pages I found:

“The following products will provide Studio One Pro 7 when registered.

(list of several products…)
Quantum ES 2 ”

So Studio One Pro 7 should come with it. I made a web search and it seems sometimes it might “take some time” before the license appears under My Products, but, how long might that take? I also tried login out and login back again, and also a different browser, but I can’t see the DAW yet. There is of course a list of products I could buy, but I know this should come for free with the hardware.

Did you guys have any problem with this? @Whying_Dutchman @TheMaartian

Anybody?

It is extremely annoying that in their support pages they only say this: https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405074467981-Hardware-registration-How-to-Redeem-Your-Free-Software

All the related pages about redeeming and registering software that comes with a product, are redirected to this page, with contains no instructions or other information.

No, everything went smoothly.
Your registered ES2 shows up, right?

Wait until Monday, if it does not show up, contact the PreSonus support. They respond quickly and are always very helpful.
Don’t worry!

Yes, the registered ES2 shows. Under My Products, I can see only hardware, and the ES2 there. No software link shows yet at the left. There is also a refresh icon by the side of Products, and I click it from time to time, but it doesn’t show yet.

I will wait then. Hopefully it will show up eventually, and f´if not, I’ll contact support next week. Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Meanwhile I can read the manuals. I didn’t install Universal Control yet, I’ll wait until I can download the Studio One Pro too.

That’s quite an important app, not only for firmware updates but also for all the very cool settings you can play with….

You looked at Studio One Pro+?

Yes, when I go to https://my.presonus.com/products/all it only shows the ES2. I already downloaded the Universal Control installation file and manuals, these were available when I click the ES2 from that page. I just didn’t install it yet, but I will install it first, as recommended, but only when the option to download Studio One Pro becomes available. Otherwise I would only be able to update the Universal Control and the ES2 firmware, but without the Studio One it wouldn’t be much fun.

Universal Control is the ASIO driver for your ES2. Install it now. That driver can be used by all DAWs and most standalone VIs (virtual instruments). Some standalone VIs don’t support ASIO.

Note that the UC install defaults to installing the drivers for every PreSonus interface. I suggest that you untick all of them except for the one you own, the ES2 in your case. Installing them all won’t hurt anything, but it’s just avoidable clutter.

Also note that Fender (who purchased PreSonus) is unifying the Fender and PreSonus user accounts. I still log in to MyPreSonus and click on “Show all”, I can see all of my purchases going back to 2014. I don’t know if the account unification process is having any impact on SO Pro 7 not showing up yet.

I assume that you received one or more emails related to the ES2 purchase. You might want to double check them to see if there’s a redemption code for Studio One Pro. You might need to register that for it to show up in your account.

Yep … I can’t remember for my purchase, but that is very likely.
If not: ask Thomann (via chat!).

Yes I’m aware of that, and I will install it. The only reason I didn’t install it yet is that I won’t be using the ES2 before getting the Studio One Pro as well. I could install it now, but I don’t have any DAW at the moment.

Thanks, that’s very good to know! I appreciate it. :+1:

I bought the ES 2 from Thomann. I got the invoice from Thomann, but there isn’t a redemption code for the Studio One Pro there. I just did like the instructions from Presonus say, created a Presonus account and registered the ES2. After that, I was able to download the manuals and Universal Control. But the Studio One Pro doesn’t show yet. It will eventually appear there, when I click Products, and All.

From Presonus I only got one email thanking me for registering my ES2, and telling me to download the manuals. But no redemption code.

I read that when people buy the Studio One Pro software (instead of buying the hardware), they get a product key, the link to download appears there, and they can download it and register it.

But it seems there is some lag in their page, and sometimes it might take a while before the software shows. This happens when the user registers a hardware. Hopefully it will appear soon. If it doesn’t, I will contact support.

I installed Universal Control. Studio One Pro still doesn’t show at my account, so I opened a thicket with Presonus’ support. Hopefully they will answer soon. Fortunately I’m so busy in January, that I wouldn’t have much time to play with Studio One anyway, so I can wait.

Their customer support is fast! :star_struck: I got my Studio One Pro and I’ll start the installation.

(EDIT: I don’t need help anymore, it is all sorted out now.)

Just one question: besides this main software, it comes with 27 Bundles Downloads, and a lot of other things can be downloaded, but I don’t know what they are, what is useful to install. I’m not a professional musician. Just looking for being able to record myself, use some filters/sims, and being able to do stem splitting to tracks.

Which ones of these should I install? I’m overwhelmed. There is also a lot to read. A beginner can’t know where to start! :exploding_head: Probably for a beginner bass player most of these things might be unnecessary?

Help….

First, these are pluggins/apps:

I read that you sorted it out but since Studio One is now Fender Studio Pro, things got interesting. You should have a licence for Fender Studio Pro (not Fender Studio which is a free app) and you can install it alongside the previous version. Ditch Ampire and use the Fender rumble plugin, it’s way better for bass.

This 100%. What’s great is that the free Fender Studio app also supports the Rumble and Mustang amp sims. If you record a bass track on the free Studio app and apply the Rumble FX to it, the Rumble amp and pedal settings come across into Studio Pro when you export the Studio session. The bass track is imported dry, with the Rumble FX applied as an Insert. Cool! My Fender Link I/O is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I’ve got the Android version of Studio installed on my Pixel tablet. Since my main computer and the tablet are on the same Wi-Fi network, exporting a Studio session is supposed to open Studio Pro on my main system and transfer the Studio session into it. I want to give that a try. I need to check if Studio Pro needs to be open already for the Studio app to find it. That’s what I’m assuming.

Does this thing do more than, say, a Zoom AMS-24? Can it do anything Studio-specific?

Also, isn’t it time for you, to get one of those Quantum DAIs? Then you have everything Fender, and it’s all integrated.
I have the ES4, but if I had the money I would get the HD 2 or even HD8…

The Fender Link I/O is just a simple guitar/bass interface with a headphone amp built in. I’m not familiar with the AMS-24.

I am never going to give up my RME Fireface UCX II on my main system. If Fender/PreSonus ever release a Windows ARM native version of Universal Control (I don’t think the new v5 is ARM native), I’ll pull my old Studio 1810c out of storage and replace the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 v4 on my MS Surface Pro. I have the Windows ARM native Bitwig Studio v6 and Studio Pro DAWs installed on it.

Same principal, but it can be run via USB power or batteries, has two inputs/outputs … and two headphone outs - which I need for the f#cking kids that listen sometimes in when I play in the park
Also it’s great when I use a singer/rapper chick soon for recordings…
It runs with any device you throw at it, be it Windows, Mac, iOS or Android.

I love this little device!

Yes, I installed Fender Studio Pro this week. But I’ve been too busy so I will have to wait until I have time to play with it. But it seems awesome!

I saw a video about it yesterday. It sounds really cool!

I wonder if I could use my Boss Katana Go instead of a Fender Link I/O to do that. I will try it eventually. Unfortunately I’m too busy at the moment to learn how to use Fender Studio Pro. I haven’t even played bass daily lately (I normally play it a lot).

I would love to hear more about this, when your Fender Link I/O arrives and you have time to try it.

The Katana Go is just a modelling headphone amp. It doesn’t have any audio interface capability.

I’ll report on my test soon (Link I/O into Studio on my Pixel tablet, then transferred into Studio Pro on my main Windows system via Wi-Fi ), hopefully over the weekend.

Oh well… :person_shrugging:

I’m thinking about getting it.
Can you elaborate on how you use it for LEARNING songs?
