Multiple Bass Disorder (MBD)

Then Pickup the Music Man Stingray SLO and suddenly overcome with Joy of playing such an exciting instrument with a fast effortless neck on it.

Wait what? G&L what the heck is G&L? CLF what the heck is CLF?
CLF L-1000? WTF? Pick up and play, and ask CLF (Clarence Leo Fender) what have you done. This is amazing.
Perfect musicman body with a MDF pick up in the sweet sweet Stingray spot. Perfectly comfortable neck (in between the Jazz and Stingray neck).
Oh does the CFL L-1000 make me want to give up half my basses or more to own it. Yes, 100 times Yes!!! (But not my Ray 4 or Stingray SLO)
But wait, G&L Tribute, with L-2000 only, no L-1000? Will that work? Will two pick ups on L2000 be better tgen the Stingray HH I am not much a fan of, personally. Wil the tribute be as well crafted as the USA line, will it suffice?
Dont know, need to get one in my hands. But, the Tribute Jazz felt amazing.
My Ray 4 is still my number one over my EBMM Stongray SLO.
Maybe the Tribute L-2000 would work.
Then again, G&L seem to be way more reasonably priced then Fender or MusicMan

CFL L-1000 MIA new for $1200
Tribute L-2000 new for about $700

EBMM MIA brand new $2400 and up
SBMM Ray34 starting around $700 (or $349 for Ray4)

Fender P bass MIA - idk, $1400 and up??? (I really dont know, I am guessing)
Squire P bass $500 (or less for Affinity)

The CLF MIA is more attainable then the EBMM or Fender as far as I can tell, plus it has so much perfection and engineering, it is amazingly a WTF? It is Freaking great.

Hope that never happens, but yeah, right there with Jessie, we got your back.

This is easy, we just sell one to every single forum member and youā€™ll be almost all cleaned out @Al1885

Dibs on the Albert @Al1885 crafted Fender P bass with Les Claypool pick ups and gold Ray Ross bridge.

Wait, that sounds like we are rooting for you to get sick or something.
NVM
I think what Al means is if / when he is on heavy meds, we sort out which ones he plays on which days, and assist with his trades and sales, maybe give a hand with some custom mods, and 3-D printing and what not, and keep his wife from selling everything.
Or at the very least help her know how much to sell things for so she doesnt list them all for $99
But if I am wrong,
Dibs.

If memory serves me right Iā€™d still have a few left over for keepsake, lol.

@T_dub if itā€™s still around itā€™d have your name on it, lol.

On the more Serious note, this Disorder is not about Whatā€™s Good?, itā€™s mainly about What Else is good? Ha ha.

IF I was forced to pare down to 4 it would be a tough decision:

  1. Poison Apple J-I made it and the tone is cool\
  2. Turquoise Waters P- I made it. The sound is ok but the paint is killer
  3. The Root Beer Ibanez Mikro- This is my go to travel bass
  4. Gretsch G2220- Itā€™s the coolest bass I have and I love the tone

Iā€™d hate parting with the likes of the Yamaha BB G4. I donā€™t play it often but itā€™s got a great sound.

I didnā€™t think about this when I decided to sell my Mikro

Did you buy it new? If so, have you applied for the Fender $100 back (because the ā€œhumbuckersā€ they claimed were on it are actually single coils)?

The Short Love thread has it rightā€¦youā€™d think that a short scale bass wouldnā€™t be as good as a full size, but the Mikro packs a punch, more than I expected. Itā€™s small enough to take to work on Saturdays and still sound great. I tune it every time but rarely have to adjust anything.

I didnā€™t know there was something like that going on. Iā€™ll have to look into it but Iā€™m still happy with itā€¦and yes I bought it new from Musicianā€™s Friend

I started a thread the other day about this in the Gear forum. Do check it out. Itā€™s money from Fender as reparation for false marketing.

Gretsch 2220 - "No Humbuckers" Reparations

Lobster sleuthed it out and got the Big F to ā€˜fess up and shell out the dough. Kudos to Lobster!

If I still owned a Gretsch Junior Jet (I returned mine to Sweetwater), Iā€™d be making it rain (or at least drizzle) right now.

Oh, I was more thinking travel like, going on a plane travel XD I still have it, tuned EADGC atm. I plan to bring one of my full-sized basses to work.

Oh itā€™s good for any sort of travel due to its size. I even bought the gig bag for it so it wouldnā€™t get damaged when I put it in the car. It would be perfect for airline travel

Iā€™ll have to look into it. Iā€™m sure theyā€™ll ask for a receipt. Fortunately I bought it through PayPal via eBay.

If the eBay seller was a store, the receipt you got should work. I think they are only accepting receipts for new instruments bought from stores, not from individuals selling personally owned items.

Watch the Lobster video for details.

Yep. Bought it from Musicians Friend

Cool. If you donā€™t have the receipt, you might be able to have them email you a copy. Good luck!

Did a quick Google search for Fender brand accessories and turned up a lot of stuff possibly worth considering.

For example, Fender does sell pups. Not that they would be drop-ins for a Gretsch Junior Jet, but they could work on other bass. Just one possibility.

There are also lots of smaller and larger cost Fender brand accessories to consider getting with that sweet $100 reparation credit.

I searched Sweetwater, but you can try your fave big box music store to see what the options are.
