Yes, @faydout, I’d heard that and it can, but it’s all in the EQ’ing. It’s has a three band EQ, plus a mid sweep, which you can play with. Plus, I watched @JoshFossgreen’s video on the dwarfs. I use a multi-effects pedal, so set up specific clean and dirty presets for it, where I balanced the output with a one of the multi-band EQ options.
The bass also has the added benefit of looking freakin’ cool, especially in pink! (of course, options may vary )
Writing this while on honeymoon in Exmouth, Western Australia. Mrs Bass is going diving with the humpback whales. Mr Bass is acting like a beached whale.
Anyway, As promised here’s the update to my buzz problem. It turns out after relocating my setup outside the house and trying standing away from the Audio Interface and computer, the source of the buzz and noise was my LG computer flatscreen monitor. Completely disconnecting and unplugging it from my laptop basically solved the problem and the bass sounds good going into my Mac through my Arturia. So I’ve got to squint at Josh and his tabs on my small laptop screen a bit for the lessons - my eyesight is not what it once was .
Yes, I realise I’m on honeymoon and I’m posting to Bassbuzz. In my defence, Mrs Bass is having a whale of a time …
Cool. It’s almost always something like this in my experience. Shielding won’t help much as the pickups still amplify the received EMF noise from the front. Split coils and humbuckers can help but rarely completely solve the problem in my experience as the coils never completely offset each other.
For me it’s my PC itself. Switching to my mac more or less eliminated any issues.
Yeah… I’ve completely suspected this… but my noise comes from the PC itself and gets amplified by the interface… Turning off screens, router, smart lights, wall panel, mobile phones, etc, etc, etc… have resulted in nothing.
Moving to laptop barely any change.
I’ve done all tests I could… all tests people here suggested… ifi-audio and focusrite.
I’m going to order a Motus M6… and maybe this also:
Cool!
Does the flatscreen have an externnal power supply? You could try replacing that. Or try another power socket? Can you turn around the plug in the socket in Australia? Try that too…
I don’t mind trying a lower specced interface like the M2 or M4… now that I know that the issue was with the interface.
The Katana will come for sure… and would also like to eventually add it as an extra external monitor from the interface… if this is possible in a clean way.
So…
Bass - Pedals - Katana - M2/4/6 - PC - Interface outputs to Speakers and eventually the Katana.
My jump to M6 is mostly external power… but knowing what I know now about the 2i2 and having the Katana and the PA/DI pedal with Grnd lifts, I believe it might be redundant… while there’s still the potential noise coming from the PC.
What would you do ?
It has an Aux in (3.5mm) and a PA In. On top only Instrument in.
Completely avoid the amp and just go with good monitor speakers, run bass direct in to M2 or M4. Or M6 if you want the inputs. Hang monitors off the interface, use the interface as the PC USB audio out, ignore whatever PC onboard sound you have now.
