Hey hey,
Sarah from the land down under.
Just started learning bass and absolutely love it. Does anyone else struggle with self control when it comes to buying more basses? ![]()

Hi Sarah,
Welcome! And you’re certainly not alone! There’s a whole thread dedicated to this very topic lol
No. Never. ![]()
And welcome ![]()
Mentally? Financially? Or how my wife reacts?
All
Of the above haha
Haha thanks ![]()
Wait until you start seeing photos of @Al1885’s collection.
Hi from France, @aussie_seza ! Welcome aboard.
What’s “self control”?
I bought a Fender Jazz 14 years ago when I started playing again. I injured my left shoulder falling on ice. Bought a short scale Gibson SG. Now I have around 20 short and medium scale basses. And a PRS guitar arrived via UPS this morning.
So, no, I don’t struggle with self control at all. ![]()
This is the way
It’s the thing that lets you settle for a two thousand dollar bass rather than a custom Mayones. ![]()
I have a tone knob, I don’t think there is a self control knob
Absolutely!.
Where in Oz are you?
I am in Brisvegas
Hey hey, I’m Melb. Would love some bris weather lol
I told myself I’m not allowed to buy a second one until I’ve been playing for 6 months. It’s been 4 months. I’m already thinking about what I’m going to get …
I’ve been playing for one year. I’ve purchased 6 basses, and sold 2.
Thank you ![]()
Absolutely. But, I live in NZ, and those things are darned expensive. I already have 2 (only been playing 7 months). Sterling by Music Man, and bought a short-scale Gretch, as I had (temporarily)a shoulder injury. Am going back to the US to visit my kids next year, and MAY look at buying a P or J Bass there, if I consider myself good enough to justify it (I’ve set myself a year from now to get proficient enough to warrant a new bass).
Mate, I reckon you need to look at Artist Guitars, pretty sure they will post across the ditch
I call it being “Guitarded” I suffer…
Hey there,
I am in Melbourne also, happy to sell you a couple of new basses if you like:smiley:![]()
Cheers Brian
