The “official” sheet on UG, if you’re a member, has the fretting in the lower frets, like I notes in my comment. I had them change it. Much easier to play.
True that! Really fun band
Working on some more later too
I’m not a member but I can see that every tab I have found is way off. I spent a few hours last night tabbing it myself while listening to the isolated bass track. Towards the end of the song it speeds up and there’s a ton of 8th & 16th notes thrown into the main riff. Hoping to have the tabs done today so I can start playing it!
I thought I heard some variations and that it wasn’t just a series of 8th notes of the same notes. I look forward to seeing what you came up with for that section .
I’ve never seen one there that’s perfect, but it’s generally a good starting point, or, a good ending point if your in a shitty wedding cover band
It’s tough to sift through a lot of the garbage on the internet looking for good tabs, but they are usually a good starting point. They’ll usually at least have some of it right, and to be fair the song could be played according to the tabs but as I have said before, I am a perfectionist. I must have accurate tabs, and if I can’t find them, I’ll make them myself! I don’t have a particularly great ear for notes, so when I am making my tabs I’ll play the notes on my bass with the track volume turned down until I hear a match. It’s time consuming but rewarding, and when it’s done I’ll have a (hopefully) near perfect tab!
@Ant your mug is not ugly!
Nice job on the cover. I’m not familiar with the song but you seem to have nailed it.
Nice looking bass too.
I try to do perfect ones for a Beatles stuff because apparently they don’t exist, despite so many studying and making them. Mine not be perfect either but they’re a hell of a lot closer than whats out there (including the official book they put out of scores of all their tunes).
Constantine on YouTube is the best of the bunch for sure, but I’ve “improved” some of his too. But man he’s usually very close.
It’s actually a really rewarding exercise to transcribe songs. really helps drill the song into your head!
Alright @groaner here’s the best I could do. Tabbed it from scratch, learned it in a day, and got one semi-successful take. A few timing issues in this one, but overall I think it sounds OK. It’s not a super complicated one but is definitely tricky to play.
No video cover for this one as I didn’t want to deal with starting/stopping my camera and the recording every time I messed up (there were many times )
I’ll give this one another shot tomorrow once I can sleep on it and hopefully have a video cover for you guys!

Oh also, here’s the tabs I made if anyone is interested in learning it! I’m sure these are 1000% accurate. (please ignore some bars being longer/shorter than the others )
edit: only mistake is the longer than necessary rest at the end of the first section , so maybe 999% accurate
That sounded awesome! The tone was dead on too.
Any chance you can share the chugging section? For me it all fret 2 and 3 but I can hear walks in there but not sure how.
Edit, I just saw the tabs so thanks!
Well @John_E This is the 4th song I’ve now covered from Rumours and they really are a lot of fun to learn / play. McVie is such a great bassist. I’ve looked ahead and there are a few ones that will require some real homework. But I am tempted to do the whole album.
Fleetwood Mac - I Don’t Want To Know (1977) from the perfect album Rumours.
I started playing Bass in Nov 2020. I used the Moises.ai app to remove the original bass line by John McVie and overdub mine.

A bit ago @paolo.pfm and I entered into a little challenge to not do any “window shopping” or GASsing until we each posted a song. Here’s my entry; it was originally going to be another song (Moon Over Bourbon Street by Sting) but I couldn’t get the sound I wanted for it. So, I changed it.
This is King Without a Crown by Matisyahu. I love the bassline on this song. This was done on my Charvel “No Mod” San Dimas IV into a Behringer UM2 DAI, recorded into Reaper. A bit of compression and EQ was added in post, but I think the bass level is too low. I’m still learning Reaper and mixing and all that.
My next cover is going to have to balance this one out. Prolly be… like… Hell’s Bells by AC/DC or something, LOL.
I barely have the time to keep up with the amount of new covers posted here, but I had to listen to this one
Not my cup of tea in terms of genre, but that’s super cool bass playing.
The volume of the bass is fine when listening to it on my earphones. It doesn’t pop out but sits pretty well in the mix imho. It’s loud enough to pick up the nuances pretty easily.
It looks fun to play indeed
waiting for Hell’s Bells next
Yes, do the whole album!! Great cover Barney as always.
I’m having my morning coffee and this song really work me up. Great bass line as you mentioned. Enjoyed it.
