Thanks @JerryP JT works with incredible musicians all around both studio and live. I have a couple of songs line up from his live shows I’m hoping to put it out soon.
Thanks @John_E I’m shopping for some pajamas right now. Since Lobster made it so fashionable, might as well try it. Lol.
Hey, I’m experimenting with this right now. I recorded a couple of takes it sounds great on the P bass. If I have the formula down I’ll do the comparison on the small amps. I’m have blackstars and the boss dual cube LX along with the 2 sparks.
They are great not just for the price but great over all. Although they are not reference but if it sounds good here it should sounds good anywhere. I’ve actually been mixing on my Marshall Bluetooth speaker with pretty great result. I have a pair of Meyer Sound HD-1 ref monitors but clearly it’s way overkill, lol. For a while I use them as a stand for my fan. Look them up you’ll like it.
This song popped up in my subscriptions feed this morning (Sunday). I follow Murphy Karges on YouTube (The bassist in Sugar Ray).
He did this cover and I thought, It’s the weekend and this song is by The Weeknd. It’s done in Drop C. I’ve never learned a song in Drop anything. So my tuning is CADG. I’m not buying a 5 string Bass just to do this sort of thing and to be honest it doesn’t sound too bad, considering it’s a 4 string.
Simple bass line, easy to learn and record in a morning. I love getting to the point in my playing where this sort of thing is just fun rather than frustrating. Put the work in kids, it’s a beautiful thing when it pays off.
I’m pretty sure the original track is a synth bass. But I used Moises.ai to remove the bass and overdubbed mine. Oh and he’s Canadian
Fun fact - Currently the most streamed song on Spotify with over 3.3 billion (yes that’s billion) plays.
