Post your covers! (2024)

That Hofner sounds pretty awesome @sunDOG
Your fills are just deliciously smooth.

He is to me . Although, to be honest, I prefer these ‘rocked up’ versions of his songs, compared to the originals!

Took some practice!!

Regarding the Hofner, while it isn’t, the string spacing feels wider than my other basses, it’s not the easiest thing to play…,

Love this song, love the artists on this song who’s who in Studio recording Lee, Vinnie, Esther, and Lari.

Basses
Yamaha BB735A
Yamaha BBNE2

Lignum Custom 23” scale 5 strings. It’s what you are not missing compare to the big sisters.

Modulus Quantum 5. I was for sure going to replace the Quad Coil soap bar Bartolini to something a bit more modern but man this is just beefy, woolly thick tone, and the bass is just simply amazing. The frets shown no visible wear but it’s narrow and low, it’s custom made for a pro on the late night show and I wish it’s how it was ordered, :joy:

Enjoy!!!

Thanks, the 735A feels so good, and it’s a great stretch for someone like me who likes generosity of space in any direction. Since it’s a 21 fret the distance between frets from 1-7 is closer to the 35” scale compares to the 34” scale with 24 frets. The quantum 5 is 35” scale.

I’m waiting for the string sets I ordered on the prime day. Surprisingly it won’t be here for another week. I think the strings are just a bit tired and can use some refreshing. I think that the tone would wakes right up.

Thanks @Paul_9207

I really love the neck and string spacing on these. Both my BB and SBV are in the Yamaha 40mm nut/19mm spacing. Your 735 retains 18mm spacing which is awesome for a 5.

I’ve finally completed the 50 Songs Challenge and I’m both proud and grateful for all the help I’ve received since I started 9 months ago. I feel like I’ve improved a lot and even though I still have a long way to go, I’ve joined a band and I feel like I can call myself a bassist again. I’ve also learned a lot about video editing, but I think I have an even longer way to go with that.

A great one to learn and play. It was a lot of fun and what music should be about.

That was fun to listen to, great playing as always Al! All lovely basses but I especially liked the tone of the BBNE2! I need to get Yamaha on my radar.
