Trouble is that TORSK and I have history with this stuff. We once competed in a 10 day MTB stage race across the Australia outback, have ridden 305km in a single ride and have also destroyed ourselves in the Alps, Pyrenees and Andes…
We both ‘retired’ from ultra riding, but………….I sent him a link to the video and the itch is back
Have you considered how much more fun it is to go fast than go far? If I ever race again it will be individual pursuit and maybe mass start stuff on the track. Bonus is I can just worry about being fit and blow off trying to cut weight.
Great job, I happen to be wearing my Cure t-shirt from last summer’s tour today. I love it when I jive with a bassline and nail it the day I pick it up (only had that happen once so far). I haven’t looked at anything off of Wild Mood Swings, Mint Car has been on my list though. I really dig that gnarly tone you’ve got going, it’s super punchy. Very tight play for a day 1 cover. Please keep playing it though. It sounds a little off with the drum… but again you learned it today. I still play the Slowdive song I picked up like that all the time and it sounds so much better now than when I recorded the cover.
Good job man! Wild Mood Swings holds a special place in my heart. I think it was the first CD I ever purchased. And it’s funny this is the only song I’ve learned to play from that album. Maybe just turn the gain down a bit, but really good job especially for your first cover!
I waited in the merch line for over an hour and when I got to the front of the line they were sold out of almost everything. Luckily I went on to their website and they had a bunch of shirts and posters there. I think I bought three shirts from that tour and two posters oh and a hoodie.
I got in the merch line as soon as I got through the doors, before Twilight Sad even went on. I also had fancy seats right up close to the stage so I wasn’t fighting for a lawn seat at Fiddler’s Green.
I posted this under Josh’s new video post from today. That video really helped me add some flavor to this bass line.
This is a song my sister wrote 20 years ago and I decided to write a bass line for it (this is the first time I’ve tried writing a bass line) and then I wrote a drum part for it today also (I don’t think I’ve ever played a shuffle before, it wasn’t natural for me.) Anyway, I hope you all like it.
As with all things, tastes, goals and priorities can differ
The simple answer is that racing doesn’t appeal. Never has, really. That said, I have ridden reasonably fast in the past - mainly in mass start events (my best ever 162km / 100 miles was 4hrs 32min) - but I gave that sh!t up after ending up in an ambulance three years ago!
Had a little free time over the last week, I recorded this song and tried to get it uploaded but I guess Jimi Hendrix isn’t allowed on Youtube. Lame. Having trouble accessing my Rumble account for some reason as well, so idk how to get the video up. Audio only I guess. This one is pretty fun to play and not very complicated. Tuned down half a step.
Wanted to learn a song today but also didn’t want to have to try that hard, a little tired after playing 27 holes of golf yesterday. I love this band, and this album, which I will probably cover most of in time. I think this is the best song on the album.
This one was a bit of a marathon getting it recorded and uploaded. I’ve been working on it for a few weeks, I love the song and it’s got a lot of meaning to me besides just being a kick ass song but I’m glad it’s done.

Totally awesome Paul, both bass and drum parts! Loved the song, I played it twice. No title?? “That’s All I Need To Know”. Your sister has a great voice as well. Outstanding!
Excellent as always Ant! The Jimi Hendrix song, man, I would have never guessed that was a cover. It sounded perfect. I liked the other song to, I’ll have to check that band out.
