Sounds good!

Thank you, it looks like it fits what I’m looking to do. Now I get to geek out comparing and contrasting a few devices… which tbh is almost half the fun for me GAS’ing out on this kind of stuff.

She just told me yesterday that the reason she never titled it was because she never felt like she finished it. But She said after seeing what I did with it it feels like a real song. I was glad that she liked it.

Good Times Bad Times - Led Zeppelin

Really happy to get a working version of this up, not perfect for sure, but my family has had enough of me drilling this riff with a metronome. Turns out they’ve been listening to me trying to play this song for over a year, found myself blabbing about it here on the forum last August!

On a technical note, this is my first cover since installing Seymour Duncan Apollo pickups in this bass. They’re punchy, warm, and clear, love these things. Thanks for listening.

Thanks man!! This one was tough, that John Paul Jones is no joke.

I looked at a Them Crooked Vultures tab and noped out before I played a single note.

Covering John Taylor’s bass line in Duran Duran’s 1995 cover of The Temptation’s 1970 song, Ball of Confusion.

I found this hard. The drum pattern really kept throwing me off…

Duran Duran - Ball of Confusion

Ibanez EHB1000S (‘cos you can make that bass freakin’ growl!) into the Ampero One, then on into GarageBand. Tuning: DADG

The video is another dad / daughter collaboration.

Excellent as always. If you’re looking for an excuse to stay on this Duran Duran kick and take requests, is there any chance that we could get a cover of The Chauffeur? That bass line is sick. I just had it pop up in one of my playlists a few days ago and made note to ask.

“Show Don’t Tell” by Rush

This is just the opening bass line. The rest of the song, especially the solo, is shockingly difficult (the opener is too). I’m looking forward to learning the whole thing!

Here’s the first 1/3rd of the bass solo. This was my 50th attempt or so… it’s so hard!!

Those slide-ups to the D from C are not in the original, but it’s SO PERFECT!!

Oh excellent work @dlamson13 - I was thinking of trying this one but it was just way too scary. Maybe in a another year or so

Today - River to Another Day by Love Sculpture

No, I hadn’t heard of it either before a few days ago but it was in a YT documentary of old British psychedelic rock and it dug its way into my head. I found the chords on Chordify, improvised a bassline, et voila.

The Hofner was the obvious choice, with the Round amp setting on the Line 6 (Portaflex Sim?).

This is actually the first time I’ve not had a copyright warning on YouTube, so either my cover was pretty unrecognisable, or the copyright owners are not complete skinflints.

Now, excuse me while I kiss the sky

Nice improvising on this, fit right into the song perfectly. Great job! Also quick question. Are you using the pod express as your interface? If so is it easy to use?@ Ed

Well this one was a right ball-ache to get together  But I told myself I’d do this today - so I did!

I admire all of you who memorise your songs - I struggle with that, so try to have synced tabs up, but today I discovered I was using versions with different tempos for different things, couldn’t figure out a fix to mesh it together :woman_facepalming:

Anyway I was very over it by the end - no proper video unfortunately because more issues, but I added a few video stills of me slowly losing my mind

Great job! I think you got it down just fine, different versions or not. It sounds like a really fun line to play. I love me some slides whenever I can fit them in with those little percussive staccato bits.
