Ah, much better than overdose 
Yeah, I played with grittier versions, BUT: I wanted to to preserve the EMG GZR tone, so one can compare it to a future cover, which will have the same bass with the DiMarzio DP126.
(I found the distorted versions I tried also better, very raw and dirty)
Yeah, Mother. That’s actually my next cover on this bass. I already made a version at night in the park (which is a former graveyard), in front of a huge cross and tomb stones (see below). But you can’t see the cross properly, so I need to redo it.
Looking forward to your version - if your tone is better than mine I have to purchase a Reverend bass
As for the lyrics: so what?! Are we only playing muzak for Hallmark movies???! It’s supposed to be rock’n roll!?!??!

Not here as much. If I were doing it live in a gig, way different story. I just want to hang out and talk about bass guitar with folks here and to avoid any nastiness and division with people that I share a common love with.

I won’t talk or discuss politics here but I refuse to draw the line at censoring art for politics. I post political songs all the time, if I like them. Don’t worry about it.

@faydout - anyone who has seen Idles live knows how sincere and heartfelt their music is (and that’s especially true for “Mother”, if you know a little about Joe Talbot’s background). It’s impossible to complain about them!
Go, make and post your “Mother” cover - if possible on the Reverend bass!!! I want to envy you … even more
@howard - yeah that was a very good advice. I don’t know why, but I prefer the tone of the Zoom to my Motu M4. And that says a lot!

I got Transmission at 100% last night. Sloppy as hell by the end though. Need some more time to build up those forearms so can chug those 8th notes at 160 bpm.

I’m still playing in a lonely place pretty regularly. I just need to get it to a place where I feel comfortable recording it. The randomness of how he plays the different patterns in the bass solo trips me up still. I can follow along and play it if I’ve got the tab up on screen but I don’t consider that knowing it well enough to record it.

I’m working on Sunrise right now. Bass part is about 2/3 in the can, synth is about half done, drums are done, haven’t started vocals or guitar yet. May rope in my bandmate on the guitar but I kinda want to work out the Revstar. Will likely do both, so might be a few weeks as we pass back and forth.
I’ve also started working on a song that an old friend of mine posted to Apple Music. It’s more of an ambient trance song but I thought it would be cool to come up with a bass line for it, and give me practice at coming up with my own bass lines.

That was great! Great tone, playing and background. I’ll have to check out the Idles, not familiar with them. Hope your lung issues improve, maybe the bass will rattle them clean.
