Thanks @faydout I wanted to learn this back in February but I was NOT ready then. But I felt like I had to learn this because this is the level I want to play at consistently

Song: The Thrill Is Gone, Artist: B.B. King. I am a tech idiot so apologies to all of you who expect clean professional recordings. I stand in front of my TV and play along a song with my Lady Blue of Ibanez, just for fun. I put one up here. I just start to build a set list. A fun titbid about this cover: My husband entered the room when I played. I said, “the thrill is gone” and he responded, “so where did you put it? Have you raided my toolbox again?” What??? I looked at him until it dawned on me that my “slight” German accent must have been misunderstood. Instead of Thrill is gone, he understood Drill is gone. Now I can barely play that song without starting to laugh which destroys the whole vibe lol. Here it is https://youtu.be/fBaLHUQLD2U?si=57LF8Gi8PH_OwgsA

Great job Silvia! Very well done. This seems to be a popular song to cover this week.

Yo are supposed to close your eyes and just feel the music with this song, :joy:

I wish you’d tell me that you’d do this song we could have collaborated. I bought the guitar book I could have this song nailed in no more than 6 months 8 tops.

Great job man!

Thank you. Appreciate it.
I think this is much too simple for you.

I play “it’s probably me” (sting, too) as a warmup song. It’s much harder, cause : syncopation!

Hey @Silvia and congrats on your cover ! May I ask you to please write clearly the artist and the name of the song in your post, like : “Artist - Name of the song” when you release a cover ? It helps me a lot because I’m keeping a listing of all covers ; it’s used to bring several yearly statistics about this collective thread. thanks !

Ok, so I do realise that this is far more edited than the videos you guys & gals post, but I have been trying out recording techniques, and also getting to grips with Davinci Resolve for video editing. I am using a non original backing track that has no bass, so it is me playing, even though I’m ‘miming’ in the video. It was SOO much fun making this, I struggle with my mental health so this was a much needed distraction!

I do have a couple of other songs I am practising, so will post you a proper ‘live’ take soon(ish). The competition ( not that it is one) is tough, you all sound amazing btw

Oh good work @AndreaJayne ! It looks like the competition has just been taken up a notch: bass, singing and video - the whole package !:grinning:

I was actually going to try this track myself but I was going to use a pick. I just find it way easier for chugging basslines…

PS For seperating basslines, have you tried splitting the track with Moises?

She’s not much of a dancer, but she likes to sing along to records sometimes. :parrot:

Awesome job with both the playing and the video AndreaJayne!

After your remark I though “Hey, I also going to make a quick cover of that”. Seems easy-peasy!

While practicing, I found that it has some nasty little complication (at least for my level of playing) that I didn’t hear at first, and I really appreciate how relaxed you play that song!

As for me: I put it at the end of my cover list, until I master those little nasties ^^

For anyone interested - I use these (original Rocksmith) tabs:

Wow, this was FANTASTIC!

Great job on this @AndreaJayne ! It sounded great first and foremost, and the production quality was top notch. Really appreciate the creativity you brought here. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks @Ed, I’m just miming to the song too, not actually singing. I wouldn’t inflict that on you all
The website I use for the backing tracks allows you to mute, or adjust the volume of any part, so I just recorded my bass playing via DI into Audacity and then synced it up.
