Howdy BassBuzz family! I hope everyone is doing well.
I think it has been a “month of Sundays” since I have done a cover and a lot longer since I posted anything here. Speaking of Sundays, I am endeavoring to get back in the (Bass) saddle and working to rebuild my skills to eventually set in a few Sundays a month to play in my church worship band!
I miss everybody here and think of you all often. In that spirit, here is Cover of a song we sing regularly (Goodness of God). My practice this morning was going well so I figured “why not record and post it” for my old friends on the Forum. Enjoy!
PS: Pardon any poor audio quality! I never have tooled up to record using the @John_E @PamPurrs method or even the @Lanny method so it’s just a recording with my iPhone. Something to strive for I reckon.

@401Blues your playing has improved significantly since (it seems like last week) your first cover. Your timing is quite impeccable and your spatial awareness is spot on. What other instruments do you play, I see drums and guitars?

2 years ago I was at a crossroads…I had been playing drums for 4 years and bass for 2 years… Trying to play both I just couldn’t really improve on either. Decided to go all in on Bass. The other guitar is an American Vintage II 1954 Precision Bass I use for the Blues, that said you might see it on some Motor City covers I’m working on.

Excellent as always my Dude. I love the tone on this one, how did you set it up? It’s so gnarly (good thing). We really have some kind of weird sync thing going on because I know I’ve said this several times now… but I’m working on To Look at You by INXS right now. The chugging part is fine but I need to work on some of the parts that require a little finesse still.

AI - Thank you for the comment on timing. Early on I would “play” the music, but listen to the time in my head. For the last few months I refocused on listening to the metronome and the “time” pulse of the music.
