Blink 182: Adam’s Song.

Any tips on how to tame my middle finger claw?

Good evening fellow groovers! Today I present -

The Age of Aquarius by The 5th Dimension.

It was definitely an occasion to break out my new Jack Casady bass and see what it was made of. And may I say it did not disappoint! The pickup is considerably hotter than I thought it would be, and the volume slowly climbed throughout the song. In fact towards the end, while I was beating those strings like they owed me money, I was really thankful for the heavy compression I was laying down. Even so, I’ll have to restain myself a bit more when not using a pick

The second part of the song goes on for a few more minutes but I thought I’d cut it early while the going was good

Good job @Old_WannaBe !

But is the claw a problem?

A mate of mine does something like 60-day stints driving big lorries around Europe. The money is good but no way would you get me doing it - I reckon you’d go bonkers sitting in that cab for two months.

You are welcome. Now, I’m not adverse to a bit of visual effects fun, it’s something else I enjoy messing around with. But I’m not going to win any awards for them. Same with the songs I’m playing. I’m not exactly challenging myself when it come to my bass playing, I’m just playing songs I love listening to, and are fun to play and that is what makes me happy

Awesome, well done on singing and playing at the same time. I don’t know the song so can’t tell if you killed it, or murdered it, but it sounded good to me

Paint your nails and make it part of the show!
Thanks for playing a band I’ve heard of, I’m starting to feel very uncultured lately! Nicely played to with the pick

That’s the point imo. I do like finding songs that push me too, but I don’t necessarily ever record them as covers.

Fun bass lines > Challenging bass lines.

I’m also working on: “Let’s Dance”, “Take Me to the River” (Talking Heads), and “Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)”. They’re relatively simple lines and incredibly fun. They leave a lot of room to mess around with timing and note length.

“Take Me to the River” is seriously the most fun song I’ve learned yet.

100% truth, I love Tina’s bass lines so much. They just feel happy and playful, even if the song isn’t.

Great job! Great song! I love this track and Reptile! Loves me some Aussie rock!!!

Technically a repost, but I wanted to get this one onto my Youtube and I feel like this mix sounds a bit better than the audio mix I posted a couple weeks ago. Besides I just want an excuse to listen to this track a few more times

The whole point of playing any instrument is to have fun with it imo, so you do what you need to do so that’s accomplished!! That’s exactly what I do as well! As mentioned before, my band plays more involved music, so my YouTube covers are not going to be super complex. I get enough of that with my band!
