Very nicely done Scott!
Great job Paul!
Great job Paul! I think this may have been the first Cure song I ever heard, listening to college radio after having just been turned on to alternative music. Disintegration became a staple, but this bassline in particular was just so iconic. It’s one of the first things I wanted to learn on bass… but doing it for the full duration of the song is another story. You nailed it!
Awesome playing, man. It’s really enjoyable listening to your stuff.
Not a RHCP fan mostly, but listening to this bassline makes me really like the bassline at least lol.
Tone is spot on and playing is great @cheeze_pizza
Thanks @Paul_9207 !
Hey @PamPurrs - do you recall if Resolve has this same feature? I’d imagine so but not sure how to do it
Well done. Yeah these types of songs are killer on the arms and hands.
Fantastic again @Paul_9207
I had no clue this was Weezer lol
Well done.
My second cover of the weekend, the first being here:
This cover is of The Supremes version of Where Did Our Love Go. I posted a bass cover of the Soft Cell version earlier this week and @howard pointed out that it was a cover, inspiring me to record this.
The Soft Cell version is in G, whereas The Supremes version is in C. Given that we play bass, all we need to do is move up the neck a little!
I was really focused on a) tone and b) timing today. I’m pretty happy with the result.
The Supremes - Where Did Our Love Go
Travelling this weekend, brought the Steinberger with me…
I really think Soft Cell made it their own though, their version is awesome!
Thank you so much! I’m loving my new Aerodyne Jazz bass. It feels good to play and I always get a lot of compliments on its looks.
You should definitely try out some soul music when you finish the challenge! I always liked it, but fell in love when I had to learn a bunch of songs for a School of Rock show. I think playing soul improved my skills quite a bit. I love playing metal, punk, and rock, but find myself coming back to soul a lot.
Haha it’s all good brother. Great band IMO. Thanks so much!!
This sounds FANTASTIC!
Great tonal match to the tune.
You’re right!! I’ll have to put the tree back up next week…LOL!!
Well done sunDOG!
Earth Angel Marvin Berry and the Starlighters. From Back to the Future
Eventually Ill figure out how to better blend me with a backing track.
Sounds pretty good to me tbh, good job
Hey ! May I ask you to please write clearly the artist and the name of the song in your post, like : “Artist - Name of the song” when you release a cover ? It helps me a lot because I’m keeping a listing of all covers. thanks !
@Paul_9207 : The Breeders - Cannonball
I love the fact that you can drum, too! Nice edit, I like the look between you and drummer-you, as well as the lights when you hit the fills later in the video.
Good job on the editing & song!
Cheers,
Antonio
