Just great @sunDOG
This. Is. Wonderful.
Great tune and excellent playing.
Everyone starts somewhere, so why not at Christmas!
Well done, and don’t be shy, every one of us was, and some still are.
It’s about feedback and improvement, not impressing anyone (but if others are it sure helps, lol).
Only feedback here is save the hand waving for when you are on tour, and try to keep your plucking hand from getting over dramatic.
improvement is noticable!
Great job @401Blues
You are laying back and in the pocket.
keep it up!
Jesus I loved this song as a kid.
You were perfect here, so smoooooth.
Great job! Love your warm tone on this!
Here is another rough and ready cover. This is Murder On The Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. I enjoyed playing this one on my Aerodyne Jazz!
Very cool!
If you have seen “Saltburn”, you know there is only one way to play this
I watched a video this morning, posted by the guy that originally played this line on the song. He said it came to him, and he laid it down, in 17 minutes!
Great playing, @beaurapp!
Thanks John!
Having a ton of fun working through this album. Not the most challenging bass lines but I’m getting to flex a new muscle with ear-training and getting used to notation again. Perhaps I’ll even create a few new Mayer Hawthorne fans along the way!
Thanks man… much appreciated!!
Yeah, this wasn’t their greatest moment even though this song made it to #1. Most people don’t even remember the tune…lol.
@John_E
Thanks!! I’m no pro musician for sure, it took more than a few takes to play all the way through!! I’m working on something else now that’s proving equally as challenging
This is true! Not sure Josh would be too happy with that!
Thank you! I also watched that video! Guy Pratt is a great bassist!
Just got up to 100% playback speed on the one I’ve been working on for the past week and a half. Just need to feel sassy enough to get my bass face going so I can record it.
Today’s offering, feeding the inner Goth!
The Sisters of Mercy - Lucretia My Reflection
Ibanez EBH1000S into a Hotone Ampero One, then on into GarageBand. Easy bass line. This was more about playing with tone and the video. Went crazy with the effects on the Ampero One; Compression, minus Octave, Phaser, Delay, Reverb, plus a noise gate.
Video by my daughter.
Well done! I love goth music! Your effect pedal looks complex! The tone you got is great! Well done.
