Nice work with the droning there, it’s the key to playing that song like Peter Hook

NORMAN GREENBAUM - SPIRIT IN THE SKY This song came out in 1969, the year I was born. Now I just gave my age away I spose :man_shrugging::man_facepalming::rofl: I’ve always loved, and felt a connection to this song. Maybe the planets aligned that year or something haha, who knows? Anyway, here’s my cover of it for what it’s worth. Added a little fuzz into it for good measure. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/yW9qgM3Gj9A?si=Q-1BYqNfwgI_p8dD

Thank you!

Still a work in progress, @JerryP. We had a go at 5 songs, 4 worked, the 5th didn’t. We only managed to get one kinda properly recorded - we had a couple of issues with the rig. Hopefully sorted for the next session!

I’ve been super busy recently, just finished a 13 day run at work and am finally enjoying my one day off

My wife asked me to cover this song, and admittedly I don’t really listen to this band much. The only songs I know are the radio hits Drive and Wish You Were Here. Most of the songs that I cover are ones I already pretty much know by heart so it’s always a bit more challenging when it’s a song you’ve never heard before. I didn’t really like the song at first but the more I listened the more I came to enjoy it.

Some weird time signature changes going on in this one. The intro was especially challenging and I had to actually look up the sheet music for the drums in order to figure out what was happening but once I heard it everything just clicked and it was so friggin satisfying lol. Added some sub octave since it’s a pretty heavy song. Hope this one sounds ok, haven’t listened to it on real speakers yet!

Incubus - Nice To Know You

edit: here’s the isolated drum track if you want to check it out, this is such a cool intro!

I saw them playing live in 2001 or 2002, at Lyon (2nd biggest city in France, after Paris) where I lived at the time. There are a lot of great songs like A certain shade of green, for example. I really like Incubus. One of the most interesting bands in the nu-metal groove at the time, in my opinion. Science is a great album really.

But I digress. Excellent cover as always !

sure !

Totally fine, yeah.

thank you! I’m sure that was a killer show in those early 2000’s. I’m definitely going to go through this band more thoroughly, I don’t think I ever gave them enough of a chance.

Oh yeah ! They played just before Deftones that day. I love Deftones but, seriously, Incubus was just something else. Stellar concert.

I’m not a huge fan either, but I got to see them play at Red Rocks (very famous amphitheater in Colorado). Even not being that much of a fan, the show itself was amazing and one of the more memorable ones that I’ve been to.

Wow that was really good Ant, I couldn’t play that that smoothly without tons of practice.

Admit nothing. your smile didn’t give anything away, it was the expletive immediately after that was the tell tale sign

It’s awesome man you can learn and put up a cover video in a day. That’s just some Kung Fu you got @Ant
