Post your covers! (2025)

Those sound like something I’d like to read. I’ll see about checking them out at the library.

Sweet. Love Priest, and love to see a Steiney come out to play.

Had the day off today, so it seemed a perfect day to record a couple cover I have been working on…

First up, Metallica - All Within My Hands (S&M 2 Version)

Then, Peaches by The Stranglers

You should do. They are called ‘Confess’ and Biblical’

@Vader Well played on both. Peaches has a good rhythm and bass line.
I always though the S & M album was a very good collaboration. I think it is another CD of mine that the thieving elves have ran off with though, as I can’t find it!

Started out recording a different song on another bass, but that one is back to the drawing board, so ended up recording this track on a different bass
Its not at perfect playing stage but ok with this take…this is my first fingerstyle cover posted (as I have been going through the b2b refresh fingerstyle), and I’m using my stonefield bass
Not much treble in the bass tone here so need good speakers or headphones really

I didn’t recognise the title, but 4 notes in I got it! Nice bit of Reggae for you to get used to wearing your finger tips out on
Nicely done, and good to see you back

Yes, those abrupt notes, they catch you :flushed:

Thank you, Travis!!

It’s a bit over the top, doing this, but fun!!

Thanks! Possibly a bit high. I’m be of the challenges of doing this in an iPhone is getting the mix just right!!

The Invertants - Bad Moon Rising

Another one from last Saturday, a Creedence Clearwater Revival classic.

Only one duff chord from the guitarist, and one duff note from me. Our vocalist and drummer nail it! :metal:

I watched this on YT earlier. Another good tune, hopefully you’ll post more of this set.

It was quite windy, so the sound quality is a bit hit and miss - the singer’s daughter was videoing on a iPhone. I set a phone up directly in front of us to video, it was on a tripod … which got blown over

Zombie and Bad Moon were the best, sound-wise.

Manic Street Preachers - La Tristesse Durera
(“The sadness will last forever” is the translation of la tristesse durera toujours)
I’ve been forced to return to work, so it seems quite fitting!

Good work @g13dip - we need more reggae on this forum!

My PC speakers did not do it justice but the feel was there

Sounds great, Justin! Nice tone and steady chuggin’!

Enjoyed the double feature…both songs sounded really good…you got to record on two different basses. First song, I like those little bends around 3:20…really nice sound. Second song…cool timing with starting with the bass and waiting on that kick drum. I don’t think I’ve heard that song before…verrrry cool bass line. Diggin’ this song selection.

Niiice…of all the songs, I would have bet the house that you were going to get the cat nodding along to that beat. You had nice timing here.

What a great experience for you…band sounds really good, Duncan!

Cool bass line, Andrea! Well played! Your “return to work song”
