Hi, everyone!

Madness - One Step Beyond

P.S.: Sorry for the bad video quality. The song is solid, though!

Thanks for watching

Well played John, that was a bit less of a work out for you than the last one. Another enjoyable song

Nice job, robbp! Well played!

Thanks, Andrea! Yes, definitely a lot more mellow than the last one…I may try to rotate between mellow and a little faster just to keep things interesting…

Hey, everyone! It has been a while. Got caught up at work. Here is a recording from practice with the cover band I joined. The song is “Candy” by Iggy Pop. A couple mistakes, but I felt good about it! It’s a typical driving 8th note song but still fun to play!

Wanted to post a video, but apparently I can’t share videos from iPhone? Anyone else run into this and have a workaround?

Sorry if I missed where this tip is, these threads are overwhelmingly large lol

Yeah, you need to link to videos hosted elsewhere.

Edit: it does not embed. Don’t tell me I need to upload to youtube :confounded:

spoiler: embedding doesn’t work either

The band sounds great! Well done!

Some people use Vimeo to post their videos, it doesn’t have to be YouTube if you’d rather not use that platform.
There are probably others too if you do a little digging

Spacehog - In the Meantime

What a classic, and a REAL bassline in a 90s alt-post-grunge-space-glam jam.
I remember stumbling across a tab for this tune a few months back and kind of meandering haphazardly through it, thinking “there’s no way” - with all the navigation between the lower/upper ranges - but here we are. So much of the bass here lives in the constant momentum rather than just grooving along, so transitioning between different sections was quite challenging.
Pretty happy with how this turned out, though it took more tries than I’d like to get a one-shot performance I found suitable for keeping (somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 lol)
I used Logic Pro X with Amplitube’s “Overscream” distortion into the SVX-CL along with a dab of chorus.
I can’t get seem to pry myself off the TRBX305 of late, though perhaps the Ray34 would’ve been a more organic tonal fit. The original was played on a Rickenbacker though, which just seems “out there” to me.
I wanted to get the video to fit the spacey vibe so maybe went a bit crazy with color-grading and overlays, so I apologize for that
Always open to feedback.

I’ve wanted to learn this one for a long time, finally decided to sit down and put in the time to get it under my fingers. Been practicing as much as I can during the mornings before work but I think it sounds OK. Certain parts of the bass track were super muddy and I didn’t get the cleanest isolated track from Moises but I’m pretty confident in my transcription. No time to try to film a clean take so it’s audio only. I attached a PDF of the tabs I wrote if anyone wants to learn it!

Rumble is another. And they don’t take videos down like YT. Way more lax

Nice one to cover, I was working on this one too, but have stalled since it is a picking tune and I am seemingly only playing fingerstyle at the mo…it is a real moving line (though you play it a little different than the version I was learning)
are you using the 451hz tuned original as your backing track or did you find the 440hz re-recorded version?

Hello everybody. It’s been a minute. I’ve been learning some more recent metal songs from the past few years. This one was incredibly fun to learn and definitely one of my favorite songs from Spritbox. I really REALLY like Drop F# tuning
