Post your covers! (2025)

A bit of catching up to do….!!

This time…well played . Seriously, well played, @JohnF!

Well played, @Ed! I can absolutely empathise with the love / hate relationship you develop with some songs!!

Freak me, @Johnnyb, that was freakin’ awesome!!

Love it, well played, @JohnF!

Vive la République! Well played, @AndreaJayne!

Now, this I like, @JohnF!! Oh, and I’m now counting three so far this week…?!!

Super cool, @CrayWolf! :sign_of_the_horns:

Hell yes, the Steinberger!! I want a head banging emoji, but can’t find one so this will have to do! :sign_of_the_horns:

Great to hear a bit of Metallica, @Vader!

And then this classic! It’s on my list to have a go at some time. I’d actually like to get the band to have a go at it…!! Well played!

Absolutely love it, @g13dip! Well played!

Well played, @AndreaJayne!!

Is this now four writhing a week? Maaan, you’re prolific!! Well played!!

Now, this takes me back!! The first band I was properly in to!! Well played, @robbp!!

Well played, @beaurapp! Great to see the band in actions, and mistakes…? The only mistake is to stop playing!

Well played, @BassyBunch! There’s a lot of movement in that line, well done!!

That’s sounds good, @Ant! Well played!!

Wow, that certainly woke me up, @BumbleJazz! :sign_of_the_horns: well played!!

Kings of Leon - Molly’s Chambers

A song that will be part of The Invertants set list, it’s short and sweet, and kicks 455 from the its first note!

Great work. Just catching up on this thread with a coffee (really enjoying all of @JohnF’s country covers - You are totally good enough to join a band!) . This song is now ruined but in a good way by the bat shit William Shatner version.

This is one my favourite covers of a song i.e. make it your own.

'Cos everybody hates a tourist.

The drummer is like “enough of the small talk…let’s go!”. That looked like a ton of fun, Beau! Well played!

Nice job, BassyBunch! Enjoyed that one…haven’t heard that song in ages.

That sounded great! I don’t think I 've heard a Dead cover on here yet (not sure if this cover of a cover counts  as a Dead cover). Those high notes during the “let her pass by” part leading into the outro sounded really cool.

Well played! This isn’t my type of music at all, but you’ve got some serious chops . I am working on a song with Eb standard tuning and I’m thinking that I was getting low and then I hear this…

Very cool song for the set list! Love it! Very smooth playing as always!

Thanks, Barney! Really appreciate the encouragement!

Just a quickie today. I originally thought I would put it on the ‘Post your practice fragments thread’ but I think it’s more or less a cover. It just turned up in my feed in the other day and I thought it was nice to practice after a hard day

I got the chords from Chordify and kind of improvised around them. The original bassline was good but I’m not used to playing half notes - I sit there in the gap between notes and I can feel the sweat trickling down my brow. So I made it bit busier but not too busy.

The Hofner was perfect for this - no extra effects, widgets or doohickeys required.

So - ‘In the Chapel in the Moonlight’ by Chet Atkins

Dogstar are: guitarist/lead vocalist Bret Domrose, bassist Keanu Reeves, and drummer Robert Mailhouse. Breach is taken from the most excellent album ‘Somewhere Between The Powerlines And Palm Trees’.
I really like this song, it was fun to play. It was an exercise in dead notes, and also my first string bend!

I see what you did there  Nice playing :metal:t2:

Great job! You must have some heavy gauge strings on that bass for that tuning!

Well you’re in luck, cause I’ve got like 8 or 9 more I’m working on.

Love it…super relaxing melody and sound. Well played, Ed!

Excellent! That song looked like a fun one to play. And, yes, Keanu Reeves may be the coolest dude alive.

Demo for an original cover I’m working on putting together with the band. Still not 100% settled on structure.

Sounds great, dude! You can sing (and play bass at the same time which is a skill in and of itself)! I’ve heard the “slowed down and reverbed” version of this song on YT, but you’ve slowed it down even more and added a nice bass line. Really well done!

Thanks! My goal was to make a version for slow blues dancing.

I’m thinking of playing with the structure a bit to fit better when performing live - guitar solo and probably a chance to get some audience sing-along - but cut this down to just what made sense with only me.
