Post your covers! (2025)

Great job, I love that you went the extra step and broke out the Pumpkins T to go with the song. I’ve 3 or 4 songs that I’m wanting to record here in the next few days, one of them is a Pumpkins song off of Gish.

Hey everyone sorry for the absence (doing my pressups now)

I thought I would show the Americans here some love and redo my cover of John Denver’s Take me Home Country Roads on the Rickenbacker.

It was definitely better than the last attempt. For a start, the notes were easier  but also I could run the output through the Line6.

One problem with the Rick is that the output is pretty low, making it a bit of a nightmare to record (even though it sounds good through an amp). So. to avoid having to buy a preamp, I used my Motorbass overdrive pedal to boost the signal and I think it worked pretty well.

Some great D’arcy basslines on that album. Siva was actually the first song of theirs I heard back when it was released.

Great cover Ed! Reminds me of my time in West Virginia. I lived there for a couple of years back in the 90’s.

Nice job, @Ed ! I’ve actually been working on this one and will maybe record a cover soon as well. Great walkup and roots/5ths practice!

Love it! Sounded great, Ed! We go up to the Smoky Mountains (a portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains) a lot and your cover makes me want to get back up there!

Thanks, @AndreaJayne. For a £60 13th hand bass that I take apart to put into a suitcase, it is surprisingly good!

Thanks, @howard. It is a great version of the song!

It was!! All recorded at dawn, standing on the balcony so as not to disturb the rest of the family!! I have one more to post, this coming Wednesday. Sadly, been back at work for a week

Thanks, Travis! Yep, it’s a great version of the song!!

Nice and mellow, @JohnF!! Well played!! Is it me, of is the video slightly out of synch?

Not a band I really know … should probably check them out! Well played, Travis!!

Well played, @Ed. I hear what you mean with the bass being a bit low in the mix. It would have been nice to hear it a bit more. Classic song though!!

Great band bro. Check out the albums “Gish”, “Siamese Dream”, and “Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness”. They won’t disappoint. Thank you
