Post your covers! (2025)

It’s only 4 notes but this rhythm by Sly & Robbie is so satisfying.

Thank you! I used Ampeg SVT Suite and messed around with one of the amps to get a punchy tone and just a compression pedal

That sounded great, John! Rockin’ tune that looked like hella fun to play.

That sounds bad ass, BumbleJazz. Especially that part around 2:05.

Awesome @JohnF ! One of my favorite Mazzy Star tunes (though not the one I named my daughter after, LOL)

Hope has such an angelic voice. That “glaaaaaAAAAAD” gives me frisson chills every dang time.

Great performance, once again I’d have a hard time knowing it was a cover just by listening.

Thank you…I appreciate it! I love that song…I was listening to She Hangs Brightly on Friday and decided to cover one of the songs…I was debating whether to cover this song or Halah…so I’m going to do both. Hope’s voice is definitely ethereal. Which song did you name your daughter after?

One of those two.

LOL Yah… another one.

I been kinda busy learnin stuff.

This one I couldn’t find tabs for it. So I extracted the audio from the YT Vid… and sent it to Moises, I isolated the bass track, and exported a trainer version with the bass cranked. (as well as a bassless track, for the cover… )

Since I had no tab, this one was figured out by ear

Hope you like it

Well done John!

Awesome job, John! You’re cranking out the covers. Moises was a game-changer for me…the transition from relying on online bass tabs to popping any song in Moises and figuring it out yourself. Such good ear practice and makes you think more about how they put the song together in the first place.

Thank you @TheMadBassist, @Buzzin_Canada-John and @JerryP for listening and for the feedback!

Great job John!! Lovin’ the deep rich bass tones!

Moises is a great tool for developing tabs using your ear. I typically send an isolated bass track to “Transcribe!” where I can develop a note for note bass only transcription. I will also send a bass heavy mix from Moises into “Transcribe!” to use as a practice track to practice with. I also send five of the six individual tracks (no bass track) from Moises to GarageBand so that I can easily mix each individual track with my bass track recording prior to finishing in iMovie…. This process has helped develop ear training, and most often always results in a most accurate bass transcription.

Keep on Thumpin’!
