Amen! The new bass sounds sweet, Lanny! Well played…fun to watch and listen to.
Great job as usual Bill! Ibanez sounds awesome!
Thanks John. A fun song to play!! Am impressed with the Ibby though. Being (mostly) a Fender player, I did consider going that route, but “bang for buck” combined with a thinner neck, lighter body, and Bartolini pickups, it was a no brainer.
Thanks Jerry!! Much Appreciated!!
Wow! Great video backdrop with such a cool groove. You just moved covers to a new height with that combo. Nice job!
Mazzy Star - Halah
This one’s for @fennario and his family!

That was awesome John
Love her voice… great song
Nicely done John. Love the tone.
Only my favorite song in the known universe! Great job!
That song and album (and of course Hope’s voice) are amazing…thanks for listening and for the encouragement, John!
Thanks, Lanny! I appreciate it.
Hopefully I did your favorite song justice!
Man that’s a boogie! Love the fade in/out (of you) and the background changes! Sounds great!
Anyone remember Grey’s Anatomy?
This song was used in one of the most soul-crushing moments I ever saw on TV … the death of Denny.
It’s a simple song… but music doesn’t need to be complicated to hit you in the feels… right?
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
I couldn’t find any tabs for this song, so this was ‘by ear’. I’m probably not 100% correct, but good enough (IMHO )
Had the same thing happen for my cover of Apparitions… couldn’t find a tab… thankfully Moises exists! LOL
Really great ear work on that track @sunDOG
ZZ TOP ROCK
I think this is great version of the song. Fantastic to see the cats too!!
Cool song, @Milt!
That’s great, @JohnF. Love the video!
That’s great, @Buzzin_Canada-John. There’s a certain satisfaction in working it all out, isn’t there?
Solid playin’ @Vader! (I’m more of a Star Trek fan )
Sounded good, @Lanny, and I certainly don’t do church or church music
I like that, @JohnF!
Blimey, You’re on a roll, @Buzzin_Canada-John!!
It’s Wednesday, so time for my midweek cover
Dido - Small Town Boy (Bronski Beat)
Another of those songs that I thought I could improve by adding some bass . This cover of Bronski Beat’s Small Town Boy was recoded by Dido, for BBC Radio 2 in December 2013. Dido is a British singer songwriter, whose debut album was released in 1999.
Oh, I was inspired to record this cover by the fretless thread of a week or so ago.
Sire V7 fretless into the Hotone Ampero, then on into GarageBand.
Anyone know what I’m referencing in the video?
First time I have heard this version of this one. I am way familiar with the original … I’m really diggin it
Looks like an homage to the original Bronski Beat music video.
Great job!
( also re: your last post… yah … I been a bit busy learnin tunes
)
Earth Angel - Marvin Berry & The Starlighters
After recording The Power Of Love, I had to cover this song from the film too. Awww, the first kiss!
@Lanny Wow, that was a real groovy tune, I wasn’t expecting that. i Love it!
@JohnF I don’t blame you for toing more Mazzy Star, another great cover
@Buzzin_Canada-John I’ve played this a bit for a friend, it is a very pleasant song indeed. You have to be 100%spot on with stuff like this, and so easy to let your timing slip. Well done!
@sunDOG I like this version, Dido does have a good voice. Also not a fan of Bronski Beat, but it is a good song. Cool video too
@JohnF -Very nice song, John. Well played.
@Buzzin_Canada-John - You’re right music need not be complicated. Well done again!
@sunDOG - Great tone Duncan! Nicely done!
@AndreaJayne - Great intro to the cover, Andrea! One of my favorite movies and a song I grew up with. Awesome!
Nice, mellow songs to wake up with this morning.
Great job, everyone!!
