Well done BassyBunch!
I have annoucement to make. I know it’s rather sudden but the Stiff Little Fingers and I are now an item . We met on Youtube when Suspect Device sneaked into my playlist. Since then we have been spending a lot of time together and as this is our one-week anniversary I thought I would mark the occasion with trying to cover Suspect
The Moises - Transcribe! combination works really well for learning the song, and the recording was just the Thunderbird running through the Vintage sim on the Line6 POD.
Stiff Little Fingers - Suspect Device
Awesome! Love it. Great song.
You totally nailed those fast transitions in there.
Very very cool - you ARE rock’n roll
Not my genre of music, but you KILLED it Ed!! You took control and RULED that bass line!! Most excellent bro…
Nice job. Looks like you certainly got a good plucking hand workout!!. Maybe just a bit muddy or overly saturated with the mix, but then again it could just be my old worn out ears… Keep ‘em coming’…!!
It’s been a while…here is my first entry for 2025.
Poolside - Ventura Highway Blues
54 P Bass + Ampeg V4 with 15 inch speaker cab mic’d into Garageband.
That was sweet Cheeze_pizza! Great tone.
Laid that bass line down with some “00” flour Pizza Man!!…. Smooth as silk!!
Thanks @howard @Whying_Dutchman @Lanny !
The transitions were pretty tough but I managed most of them Punk bass has got to be so incredibly tight that it’s a real workout. Then again, one of the things I love about bass is the physicality of the instrument - you can’t get the same feeling from a keyboard
Oh you know how to flatter a guy
Thanks man - you can’t take your eyes off a line like this for a second or it’ll jump you
Love this! Suspect Device is a great song and you more than did it justice.
Thanks Jerry! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Lanny! Love the analogy.
My Mom’s favorite band of all time is Chicago so this one is for her! Thanks for checking it out.
Chicago - Does Anybody Really Know What Time It is?
Your mom’s got great taste. I have quite a few Chicago songs in my playlist.
Awesome playing!
That fretless just sounds amazing in this cover, well done dude!
Thanks Jerry! They are a cool band, true originals, I appreciate them a lot more than I did when I was a kid.
Hey thanks pizza man, that classic P is sounding super sweet as well, nice to see you back!
A real “Boomer” classic!! Nice one Dan…. Hope your mom enjoyed it:grinning:.
