Great job! I also love the bass in this song. That was a lot of work to get that tone. Saw her live, with my wife, a few months ago. The crowd was dancing to the is one!
Thank you! It was one of those times you hear something while out and about and get Shazam fired up. I ended up seeing them live. Lots of great songs (and bass lines) in English and Spanish if you like Latin music. Being in Southern California, and being part Mexican, it’s hard for me to avoid .
This is a Ibanez SR705. I really wanted to get a Lakland but I impulse bought this instead of waiting to get one lol
Thank you! Personally I’m not a huge fan of Slipknot either I just like a couple songs. When I got my pedal this was the first song that came to mind to test out a crunchy bass tone
Oooo this looks like a fun one! Love the tone!
Thank you! The pedal I got is a Darkglass Microtubes Infinity and it sounds soooo good. I finally cracked the code to get the tone I want so I’m about to start my Djent Era lol
Since the cold is starting to disappear and weather is getting warmer I wanted to learn this as like a “season finale” before heading into Spring and Summer. I think this is a pretty song. If I’m not learning heavy stuff I like learning stuff like this lol there’s no in between
Cafuné - Tek It
Every time I see someone playing a Stingray style bass I get a little GAS. They do sound great.
I love the song, nicely done
Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
Breaking myself back in gently after a few weeks off! Great tune though, and fun to play.
Great job Andrea, awesome song!
Nice job, Andrea! Solid rhythm. Did you fadeout your bass track at the end or just play softer? Always wonder what to do with those types of endings.
Thank you Travis
@JohnF I kept playing, but faded it out in the edit. When the song fades slowly, I think it is best just to keep playing and sort it out afterwards. Thanks for listening to the end!
Many decades ago when I asked someone in the business about songs that just faded away at the end, he told me that was a conscious decision. Their research showed that fades vs. abrupt ends kept the song in peoples heads longer, that they’d keep mentally singing along for a bit. The fades functioned like earworms. That led to higher ratings, higher requests and higher sales. I’m sure you guessed that there is a $$$ reason behind it.
Haha, that’s an awesome bit of music biz info. It makes sense too
Great job at the open mic night Matty!
Nice change of pace with this selection, Ed. Great playing staying in the groove like that. Well done and very enjoyable!
Very nicely done beaurapp! The Aerodyne sounds great!
This one was so much fun to learn - took me a while to write the tabs and I think I added a 32nd note rest somewhere along the line which has pushed the tabs ever so slightly out of sync during the outro A few timing issues here and there but I’m moving on!
This is one of my all time favorite albums - the whole thing has this really dreamy feel to it - best to listen on a good pair of headphones. Had to break out the Fender J for this cover, I just couldn’t get the tone I wanted from the Stingray.
Through the HX Stomp I used the Ampeg SVT-4 PRO, some compression, and also added a little bit of Chorus as well as some reverb. Both pickups and tone rolled all the way up.
The Shins - Sea Legs
Lucinda Williams - Side of the Road
From her self-titled album from 1988. Gurf Morlix on the electric guitar, Dr. Johnny Ciambotti on bass, Donald Lindley on drums, and Doug Atwell on the fiddle.
What is the difference between a violin and a fiddle?
The genre of music it is playing.
