Post your covers! (2025)

Well done Justin, we love a bit of 80’s!
@sunDOG same here, keep the 80’s flowing. And you can’t get more 80’s than Frankie
@rob.godshalk I really like this song too, thanks for sharing and well played

@BumbleJazz Very moody, but I like it!
@beaurapp Not a song I recognise, but that slow blues just instantly made it sound like i did know it. Great playing, and great tune.
@dlamson13 As I said on YT, not heard of that group, but I did very much enjoy that song

Well played, @AndreaJayne! That’s a really funky line!

And also well played!! Classic 80s (see what I did there )

Well played, @JustinAndSheba, and always great to see Sheba!!

Well done on your first cover, @rob.godshalk, very solid!

There’s certainly some light and shade in this song!! Great playing, I particularly like the octaves.

No you can’t  Great playing, @beaurapp!

Don’t know this band, but songs good. Great playing, and yes, nothing wrong with keeping the groove to the very end :+1:

Alice Merton - No Roots

Such a freakin’ cool bass line!

Video shot by my daughter.

I like this one a lot! I just made an Amazon Music playlist of her EPs and albums to hear what other cool tunes she’s made.

That syncopation is tight! Very cool song.

Excellent! The close ups were a nice touch.

Cool, isn’t it? My daughter introduced me to her music in the car the other day.

Yes, the syncopation took a while to get on top of, but once you’re there, it’s not to bad, you kind’s just feel it. My daughter enjoys doing the videos, or rather, enjoys the supplementary pocket money

I haven’t done a cover in a bit and wanted to try mixing one with my new monitors. Pretty pleased with how the process worked with them. I didn’t have to fiddle with the mix a ton after recording.

Friends, the tragedy of history is burdended by countless crimes that have gone unpunished, such as burning of the library of Aleksandria and the sacking of Rome; history also bears the weight of its criminals, one of whom would be the man responsible for mixing the bass on the otherwise excellent W.A.S.P. album Inside the Electric Circus.

To redress the balance, I today offer my unworthy cover of the title track. The Thunderbird was definitely in its environment here; however, with hindsight, I should probably have added some more compression - the T-bird really shows its teeth at the bottom of the neck…

Even so, playing W.A.S.P. is the perfect testosterone shot, and I would recommend this once daily for other men my age - I could feel the hair growing back on my chest as I was finishing the second chorus!

As usual, just the Line6 POD Express on the Punch setting, although it’s hard to notice as the vocals are so high in the mix.

So -

Hey great work there - especially keeping time during the quiet bit in the middle :+1:

Great job brother. I’ve always loved WASP, especially the first three albums.

Thank you, yeah those parts without the drums were the challenge with this one. I wish I’d have recorded it a few grown up sodas sooner so I wouldn’t have screwed up the beginning.
