Post your covers! (2025)

In doing research for this cover, I found out that a double bass and an electric bass were used on this recording. I thought I’d have some fun with it. Just keepin’ the hits coming from Old Fart Radio.

Very cool, Jerry! I like the dual basses trying to replicate the upright and bass guitar from the original. Sounded great! Nice video editing…looked like you were in a James Bond opening title sequence.

Thank you John! It was fun to edit the video.

@BumbleJazz & @JerryP

I couldn’t imagine two more diametrically opposite covers - but they were both awesome in their own right!

@BumbleJazz , I’m not a huge fan of vocal fry, so not something I would normally listen to - but had to watch it all as you were killing it man!

@JerryP looked like a fun edit, and I loved the two bass parts. Sounded so good together!

Yes, this is the original of the Bananarama hit, cool song, @AndreaJayne!!

Absolutely, @dlamson13! I’ve spent a little too long listening to some of their music over the past week or so!!

Thank you, Travis!!

Thanks, @JohnF! …or addiction

Hey great work there @JerryP - and top marks for the video! I’m not sure about the guy in the right though - he looks a bit shifty  . I was thinking about doing a vid like this for Big Bottom (Spinal Tap) but the logistics are just too much for me

And I love the Dub King! Is it tuned down? I’m wondering if there might in fact be a gap in my collection that this bass might fill…

Wow where do you find these songs? Great job @JustinAndSheba . Really nice clean mix too :+1:

Thank you fennario!

Thanks very much Ed!
The Dub King (and the Yammy) are both standard tuning.

Yeah, but he works cheap.

Thanks Jerry! I saw that these guys were going to be playing somewhere near me and it reminded me of this tune.

As soon as I read that I thought “this has to be Carol Kaye on bass.” Sure enough…lol. Great job!

Shocking Blue - Shocking You

Inspired by last Saturday’s Venus cover, I’ve had an explore of Shocking Blue back catalogue. There are quite a number of their songs that I really like, this being one of them! Their front woman, Mariska Veres, has the most fantastic voice! Oh, and any song that contains the line, The sound of bass like hurricane, gets my vote!!

Ibanez EHB1000S, via the Hotone Ampero, into GarageBand.
